Glaser has played the last 2 weeks !

Adam Pankey and Jason Poe are on the PS.  Carter Warren and Duane Brown on IR.

I would like to see more OL in development.

What?  Glaser was active last week and now he is cut?  Bizarre

The Glaser thing is really odd. Signed off the street to the PS, and immediately activated for 2 games over other OL who have been on the PS all season. Then cut again after those 2 games, while Poe and Pankey remain on the PS.

Just weird.

James (5-10, 195) has spent time with Minnesota, Philadelphia and the Jets since entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Vikings in 2018 out of Southern Illinois. He played in three games with the Vikes that season, then 18 games with one start for the Eagles in 2019-20. James has career regular-season totals of 17 tackles, one pass defense and one fumble recovery. This year, he was re-signed by the Eagles in January, released in mid-July, then signed with the Jets on July 20 and was waived July 26.

Hayes (5-9, 188) was most recently with the Ravens practice squad after spending training camp with Detroit and Baltimore. He originally signed with the Jaguars in 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State. Hayes has played in 13 career games – 4 with the Dolphins, 5 with the Panthers, 2 for the Patriots and 1 for each the Jaguars and Vikings – and has 16 tackles on 207 snaps.

Barnes (6-0, 186) was drafted by the Panthers in the seventh round in 2022 and did not make the roster. The Baylor product had a stint with the Dolphins practice squad last season before joining to the Vikings 53-man roster. He played in two games and took 9 snaps on special teams. Barnes is a converted wide receiver and his 4.23 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine is the second-fastest time ever recorded since electronic recording was implemented in 1999.

Glaser and James have both been with them before.  I think Glaser reached the limit on weeks that you can activate a guy from the practice squad without signing him to the active roster.  Did he actually play?  I never saw him with a snap count.  He was probably just active.  The presumably cut him because they can't use him without adding him to the active roster.

I guess they didn't like Shelton much.  He was a fairly slow feeder league prospect IIRC.  I was kind of surprised that they cut James when they did he is somebody other teams were interested in.  They picked Guidry back up and he got hurt.  I guess Echols being dinged explains why Hall saw the field.  Hall seeing the field probably explains the influx of corners.  Hayes is an undersized boundary corner.  Sounds like a poor man's DJ Reed.  To be fair, DJ Reed probably read like a poor man's somebody else when he was bounced from the 49ers to the Seahawks.  Barnes is a track star with decent length and apparently poor instincts and technique.

I don't think the blurb on James is accurate.  The "this year" is not 2023.  He was with the Eagles through 2022 and never signed with them since he's been with the Jets AFAIK.  The Jets signed him when he was waived by the Eagles in July 2022.  He signed a futures deal with the Jets in January and was with them through camp.  He was on the initial 2023 practice squad and they let him go to sign Siemian.  Another part of these machinations might relate to the number of experienced guys you can carry on the PS.  I haven't paid much attention, but it used to be that it couldn't be vets, but now I think there are a certain number of slots for vets and others that have to be younger/unused dudes.
