What Happens If Today, Zach Wilson Turns Back Into....Zach Wilson

Recommended Posts

What if last week was an aberration and the same crappy QB that we've all been watching for the past 3 seasons reappears today at Denver? Say Wilson throws a couple of bad picks and puts us two scores behind at halftime, do they make the move then? I doubt it, but what if the Jets do what we've become all too used to seeing the New York Jets do in games that are dubbed "must win" games...will they go into next weeks' game against Philly at 1-4 still riding on the hopes of seeing another "amazing by Wilson standards" aerial display"(28-39 245 1 0) or...does Saleh stand up there at the post game podium telling us again just how great Zach has been looking in practice all week using key words like "showing progress" and "teammates belief"or will they finally pull the plug on this guy and put either Tim Boyle or Trevor Siemian (if he is activated from the practice squad) in there?

I hope this is all a moot point and Zach proves the nervous non-Zach Truthers wrong. I want to see him play even better than he played last week and for those of us still dreaming about the 2023 New York Jets being a playoff team, I hate to say it but...THIS... GAME...IS...A...MUST...WIN.

I would say it’s more likely he sucks again than plays well.   We shall see.

Ftr, I think he plays well again today.   But even if he does, that doesn't guarantee anything in that Eagles' game (which I will be fascinated to watch if he does play well today)

If he poops the bed vs. the worst defense in the NFL, he should be benched.  The 3-year Zach experiment sould be over.

Eagles are a loss no matter who QB's, so I'd sign someone (because everyone we have at QB sucks), or start Siemian (best of 3 bad options) there.

Then see what we can do to salvage this lost season over the bye week via QB signing.  There is no way I'm wasting all season "seeing what Zach got" for a third year if he sucks today.

I wouldn’t lock the eagles in as a L. Like OP stated in typical jets fashion I can see us winning it especially if we lose today.

Naaaa, nice thought, but never going to happen (and if by so self-assuredly saying that, it makes a win happen, all the better!)

One thing is for certain, they have to let him play his game like last week throwing a lot on first down. They cannot play conservative as that puts Zack in positions of too many 3rd and longs which is hard for him to handle.

sh*t I’m on the opposite end

I rather lose because if we are being real this team is not winning a SB this season, anything else is just hurting draft position in a real great draft.

What happens in this thread when Zach continues to play good football, and the Jets kick the Broncos ass?

They'll be tons of excuses for why he played well and harp on the one or two plays he wasn't perfect.

And people will scour the internet for someone that supports the Zach wasn't good theory so we can over take the board with continued Zach sucks threads.

It’s very realistic that Zach has not made a solid turn yet. This is not a learning the position thing. This is a head case, or emotional, or anxiety, or freezing up type of thing.

He has not steadily improved. There have been other times when it has seemed to click, and then we just learned that it was a one off.

It is possible that everything finally clicked, he is going to move forward like a solid pro, I’m just concerned there’s something going on that will cause him to freeze up two out of three games.

Planning no? Not me. Full out expecting? Yeah, I’m sadly guilty of that, wish I wasn’t , but I am.

I'm actually with you here.

My expectation is he reverts to old form.  I think we'll get the 180 yards, 1TD, 55% guy.   Kinda like we got in week 1 and the Dallas game (minus the last 10 minutes)

I am holding out hope I'm wrong though...Because it changes everything.

People will say “he only looked good In 7 drives and on the bad throws when his OLine stepped on him that was very very bad”

I don't think ZW has ever played anywhere close to how he played against KC.

Do the cats get large in your neck of the woods? Its not my type of fishing but i understand they get pretty damn big.

They taste amazing breaded in restaurants so I can only imagine how good they taste fresh.

As long as Zack plays with the same confidence I don't care if that comes with a pick or 2 in what I expect to be a win. Which surprisingly he hasn't thrown since breaking script and throwing desperation passes at the end of the Dallas game. That confidence in his ball placement told me he's taking the next step mentally.

KC was the first time this year that you could just relax and enjoy watching a legit NFL offense which I'm now expecting to continue today. Kind of reminded me of the same feeling I had during the second half of the Monday night miracle, just not ending on the ultimate high of that win.
