IMHO - these are the 5 NFL Head Coaches Most Likely to be Fired

Recommended Posts

Not including Belichick because they won't fire him. Also not counting any 1st year head coaches regardless of how bad they are doing (ie Payton)

  1. Matt Eberflus, Bears - Going to have to play a lot better the rest of the way.  Two top 5 picks in 2024 might attract a top-tier new coach - if one is even available (Jim Harbaugh? / Lincoln Riley?)
  2. Dennis Allen, Saints - 7-10 last year, 3-3 this year with wins over the Titans, Panthers and Patriots.  Another losing record and he could be gone
  3. Kevin O'Connell, Vikings - only his 2nd year and they were 13-4 last year, but he's getting a lot of heat - if they miss the playoffs, he could be gone
  4. Brandon Staley, Chargers - Hasn't done BAD, but they might be getting worried about wasting Justin Herbert's prime and go for an offensive minded coach (Lincoln Riley?)
  5. Mike Vrabel, Titans - Losing record last year, staring another losing record in the face this season

As of right now, Josh McDaniels, Brian Daboll, and Mike McCarthy are probably safe but still a long way to go and each could be gone if things break bad for them

Staley is too much of a gambler. In the final week of last year, with nothing to play for, he ran his starters for pretty much the entire game. The result, the same playoff position and losing Mike Williams for their first round playoff exit. His decision making is questionable.

-Staley has gotta go. Sorry, but when you have a QB and your team is still struggling to take the next step, that's on the HC.

-Has a HC ever won Coach of the Year and then been fired the following season?? Could be in play for Daboll.

-I think Vrabel is a good HC, I'm just baffled with how they approacehd the offseason. They should be sellers and rebuilding, trading Henry and Tannehill, giving their young QB playing time. But they do none of that and go after Deandre Hopkins?? Weird.

Only reason would be his relationship with Danny-Dimes…. Becoming similar to Lil’ bill & Mac Jones. If anything, the idiot who gave DJ that ridiculous contract should be fired!

Daboll passing on the 1 yard line is reason for termination when SB is in the backfield.
