New York Jets vs Giants – The Betting Line

It is here, on Sunday we will see the New York Jets vs Giants game. The 3-3 Jets “travel” to take on the 2-5 Giants this week. I have always felt this should be an annual Thanksgiving Day Game. The tired Thanksgiving tradition of Dallas and Detroit needs an update. How about natural geographical and/or division rivals play each year on Thanksgiving? Let’s see the Packers vs Bears and Rams vs Chargers. Games like these would spice up the holiday. The Cowboys could play the Redskins, and the Lions…well, we can figure something out for the Lions. Sunday isn’t Thanksgiving, but we have reasons to be thankful. The oddsmakers have served up some very nice values, and we are here to take advantage. If you aren’t in the game yet, this is a good time to get started.  There are solid deposit bonuses out there, here you can check out a list of bookmakers without ID confirmation.

This Jets vs Giants seems like the game the oddsmakers didn’t quite know what to do with. The Giants finally scored a win last week after losing four straight. It wasn’t a great day for the Giant offense, but they did play very well defensively. In addition to holding the Commanders to just seven points, the G-Men sacked Sam Howell six times. The Giants also intercepted Howell, who faced pressure all afternoon. The effort was notable for the Giants, who allow just under 25 points per game and had just five takeaways for the season. The 14 points scored by the Giants raised their league-worst average to 12.1 points per game. Part of the Giants offensive struggles can be attributed to health. Both Saquon Barkley and starting quarterback, Daniel Jones, have missed time. Barkley leads the Giants with just 284 yards rushing. Barkley, who is the Giants best weapon on offense, has missed two games with an injury. Daniel Jones is not expected to play this week against the Jets. If Jones does miss the game, it will be his third straight game out of the lineup. Tyrod Taylor will start if Jones can’t go. Talor has not thrown an interception, but he has only two touchdown passes thus far. Taylor moves well, but he is not the runner that Daniel Jones is.

The Jets are coming off their bye week following their most impressive win in some time. Last time out, the Jets took down the undefeated NFC champion, Philadelphia Eagles. The Jets are banged up in the secondary, but despite starting several reserves, The Jets held Philadelphia to their lowest offensive output of the year. The Jets picked off MVP candidate Jalen Hurts three times to even their record for the season at 3-3.

The Bottom Line

This line reflects how close these two teams are statistically. The Giants allow 351.4 yards per game, while the Jets allow 351.8 yards per game. The Giants gain 278.4 yards per game on offense, while the Jets pick up 277 yards of offense per game. It’s uncanny how close these teams are by the numbers. There is very little to find in the statistics that separate them.

Both teams figure to have similar game plans for each other. As the running backs are the best weapons for each team, the defenses figure to crowd the line of scrimmage and force the quarterbacks to win the game. So, which backup quarterback do you like more, Tyrod Talor or Zach Wilson? It’s hard to make a case for either man. The Jets have the edge at receiver, while the Giants have the better tight end. Both offensive lines have struggled significantly. This one has the look of a rock fight. I can’t see either team pulling away from the other. The Jets will make enough plays through the air to win. It may not be pretty, but they will cover and improve to 4-3.
