The New York Jets offense is still offensive.  The team failed yet again to find the end zone in a 16-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in yet another penalty filled contest.  The Jets were flagged eight times and despite outgaining the Raiders 365-274 with 99 net passing yards.  But the Raiders got 116 yards on the ground out of Josh Jacobs for an offense that got a late TD when Aiden O’ Connell hit fellow rookie Michael Mayer in the back of the end zone.

Meanwhile, each time the Jets got something going on offense they shot themselves in the foot.  Whether by turnover, penalty or boneheaded throw, the Jets couldn’t find the end zone.

At one point it looked as if Zach Wilson had found the end zone on a long TD run but replay showed a portion of his right foot was out of bounds and the score was called back.  On the next play, Breece Hall ran right for what looked like a touchdown but that too was called back thanks to a CJ Uzomah holding penalty.

Garrett Wilson led the Jets with 9 receptions for 93 yards on 14 targets but of course did not find paydirt.
