Boomer said earlier this morning that they should cut Zach Wilson...now

Recommended Posts

I can’t imagine the Jets are able to cut him just like they considering how much PR they’ve had to do to keep him on the field. There’s a lot of strings attached with Zach Wilson. I’d have a lot more confidence in this franchise if they did that today though.

It’s real easy to blame Zach for the jets ills.  Just like the reason for always blaming the coach instead of the players.  At this point I tend to agree that Zach should be benched but was there anything to be gained by putting in Boyle?  Zach is a much better passer.  Semian may be the solution but where has he been?  The real problem is and has been the oline.  They play matador pass blocking and that’s going to get just about any qb killed.  And the jets must have known the bills were going to blitz quite a bit.  Funny because when the jets blitzed they put good pressure on Allen.

And the WRs are complete garbage outside of GW.

Cutting him isn't going to solve much. The entire game, esp the 1st half the o-line on the right side was getting destroyed.

Doesn't matter who's back there when thats happening.

We should definitely only look at the most recent game to form our opinions on the guy who has started for 3 seasons.

Stop. The o-line has been a mess since before Zach was here.

Injuries exacerbated everything the past 2 years. It's a big part of why folk hero MW got hurt

While it actually might be the best thing for Wilson and the team, I think the optics are horrible, like the worst, and JD and comp. would skewered for sticking him to begin w/ only to cut him after he predictably would fail miserably.

Then again, the New York Jets are the biggest joke in all of professional sports, so I dont think doing more embarrassing dumb sh*t even matters at this point.  It's expected.

Boomer is usually pretty supportive and goes easy on these situations. So, I think this says a lot...not that we needed anymore justification.

This whole thing was a controlled demolition. The Jets and team Wilson felt they could keep him around and hide him as the backup while pretending he was getting better. The preseason was such an indicator of what was going on here. They wouldn’t let him throw passes. Wilson was never going to agree to be 3rd string either, which is why they had to get rid of MW. With the Jets, there’s always something more to it.

No, you wait until the off season.  It would be a bad look for a shi_ty franchise.  It serves zero benefit cutting him now other than scapegoating him for all of the organizations failures and coaching failures.  Part ways in the off season.  It didnt work out.  Both sides need to move on.

The plan seems obvious and rodgers was in on it.  But here we are now agin in the dumpster fire.  They have a first and third rounder to spend on offense.  Rodgers will presumably be healthy to start next season.  Wilson is finally most likely gone after the season.  They need to draft a qb in the first 3 rounds.

Joke's on all of us, thinking Zach isn't going to be the starter on Friday anyway. Short week will be the excuse for not promoting Siemian from the practice squad to leapfrog either Zach or Boyle, let alone both.

Then we’re going to get embarrassed again on national tv.  At some point woody will have had enough.

So, you’re incapable of assessing Zach’s ability after 3 years because of the OL? First you were blaming yesterdays OL, but now you’re talking about before Zach got here?

Maybe the OL is bad AND Zach is awful?

Zach Wilson sack rate, 2021-22:  9.6 %

Non-Zach QB sack rate, 2021-22:  ~ 5 %

Just stop with this.  The OL was in the average/below average category from 2021 up until about Week 5/6 of this year.  Zach makes everything harder for this offense.

The injury to White was unfortunate but at every turn otherwise he got the ball out quick, unlike Zach.

It’s obvious wilson contributes to the sacks and the perceived poor play of the OL

I think that's the only hope but I've said many times about this franchise... it seems like there is no rock bottom... so what will it take from an embarrassment stand point to actually get woodys attention

Apparently not, for you and several others, who even now are still flogging the "anyone and everyone but Zach's fault" concept.

Zach is a bust of all-time historic proportions.  Please, for all our sake, stop white knighting that guy, he doesn't deserve your defense.  It's ok to be wrong on the internet, you don't have to die on this of all hills.
