Jet/BosoxFan
Sorry to bring up baseball again here in the Baseball Forum, smizzy and blackout can resume talking about early 90s heavy metal in a moment... but I gotta wonder, is this early season Yankees slide going to impact Roger Clemens decision to return to baseball? a. Will Roger return at all? I am sure he will, I've heard way too much about it all offseason. I gotta also assume it's about money (duh!) and winning. b. Where will he wind up? If the Yankees continue to play, hit AND pitch like sh*t, they're out. Roger cant go back to NY and play for one of these grossly overpaid dispicable loser teams of the past 5 years. He'd have to piggyback along side of a juggernaut, circa the Yankees of 1998. Ya know...the team y'all thought you had on paper during the offseason!!! c. It looks like it may be between Boston and Houston. Texas looks AWFUL and they may never recover from getting too far behind early. The A's and Angels are going to be too good, and frankly I think Seattle is better than Texas. The Yankees look horrendous right now...we all know they'll win their share of games and all, but they have 100% ALL untradable parts and they CANT make a move to help their club. Roger will not go anywhere close to a likely loser. Now, if Houston wanted to pay for Roger they would have offered him arbitration last fall. They didnt. I gotta assume Boston has the best shot of bringing in Clemens because they have the money. Not that I want to see him come back here, nor do I think we even need him. But imagine what a Schilling, Beckett, Clemens, Wells, Clement rotation would look like in the 2nd half of the season, with Wake, Iron Mike, Papelbon, Foulkie, and Tavarez in the pen. It's almost not fair!!!
PFSIKH
Go home Roger. No team should touch him with a ten foot pole. I remember a slightly less then motivated Rogah right before he left the Sox. He was a .500 pitcher. When he realized he was pissing away a contract when it became apparent the sox were not going to resign him, the Rogah of old appeared and he capped his Boston career with a nice run that included his second 20K game. His motivation at this point in his career is himself. The only team it makes sense with is Houston. He signs before the playoff deadline, assuming they are in contention and plays alongside his son (a September call-up). Anyways, who needs a self serving Rogah. Go away Rogah. NIGHT STALKER
Question...why would he go to Boston? Red Sox winning their only WS ring in almost a century was like that eclipse that happens once in your lifetime...haven't you Red Sox fans figured that out yet? Enjoy that championship you guys got a couple of years ago...I would say act like you've been there before, but you haven't and odds of returning are about the same as taking Ted Williams out of cold storage, slapping a #9 jersey on him and tell to play ball...ain't happening. Five reasons why Roger could and probably should go to Boston: 1. Money 2. Money 3. Money 4. Money 5. To join a hella-deep pitching staff, with the prospect of pitching against other #3 starters. Granted, Boston seemed unlikely, but if the Yankees tank much harder or longer, and when Randy Johnson/Mike Mussina go down sooner than we all think...the Yanks are out of the bidding. Now dont get me wrong, Roger Dodger coming to Boston would p*ss me off as I think he is a self serving POS and I hate him...he'd look goddamn scary in our rotation
Bugg
Yanks' starters so far have been good. The hitting has utterly sucked. Sheffield, Williams and Posada have all aged in dog years. Bigger question for the Sawx is if Wells is washed up or he can really pitch. If not, the money and Clemens thing will become a big story. I cannot fault anyone for making money. but it's comical to think that he went to the Stros to be close to home and family. Houston to Arlington is not a easy commute, unless they're going to let him stay home except on his start days.

Ok, they won the first World Series, the 100th World Series and 4 others in between. Plus, they can probably claim a seventh title when a punk biatch NY team refused to playthem in 1904. So that once a century thing is kind of retarded. Thanks for playing.

Blackout
JBF, I believe you are on record as stating you would never root for the Red Sox again if they braught Clemens in this year Lets hope he goes to boston

But JBF doesn't root for the Bosox. He only hates the Yankees.
Blackout
I said he would "renounce ye ol' team" or something along those lines either way, i hope Roger goes to Beantown and JBF has to change his name to Jet/YankeeHaterfan
faba
May 1st if I am correct he can rejoin Astros if he wants to. Decision time is coming for him - hopefully he will not be like Favre
PFSIKH
But, the big question is...will you be satisfied knowing that the Sox will not win another title in your lifetime? The last time winning titles was a common occurence, they won 6 titles (5 WS and a pennant) in 15 years. The good times are just starting.
