Gave up one sack per PFF and I'll take it.  Dropped back in pass pro 48 times against a team with a very good front in a game where they could pin their ears back all day with a practice squad level QB.

Two games and two solid performances IMO.

Max Mitchell on the other hand...ugh.

I tried to focus on Warren a few times, and I gotta tell you, he was stout and tough.  Why the coaching staff waited until the offensive line was completely decimated to play this guy, I'll never know.

Tippman is doing very well too!!

If AVT can stay healthy, if Becton can be resigned, and if we can draft a right tackle who can play, this line can be quite good.  Our backups suck, and Max Mitchell has had a horrible season.  He was good last year, so I just don't understand what happened to him.  There must be a legitimate answer.  Billy Turner- good bye.  Duane Brown- Have a nice retirement.  Newman-  See ya later, alligator.  Max Mitchell- I say goodbye to you, you are a turnstile this year, I'm sorry.

I'd go the other way. We know what Hall is capable of. He looks like he hit a bit of a post-recovery wall. Lighten his load and lets get him strong for next season. Run Cook into the ground, knowing he's gone after this season.

thats another outlook except i'd rather see hall work through the wall he hit and give izzy whatever you don't wanna give to hall. but i get your point

A good example of a guy picked in the mid rounds who finally gets a chance to play and does well.  The jets were trotting out their oline based mainly on experience and not always considering the younger players.

I’m with you on a lot of this BUT not Becton.  He’s been ok but we don’t have the money to franchise him and we cannot invest in him long term.  Just not a smart investment IMO.

Agree on Mitchell, that’s why we need Carter Warren to take the swing tackle job.

Draft one starter, sign another via free agency.

Carter Warren is a C plus player

He's not going to kill ya but he's still among the league worst starters at his position

Which is decent. It's something. He has no upside though.

Meanwhile Max Mitchell and Xavier Newman shouldn't be starting for any nfl team anywhere

Try telling jets fans this, they will be swearing he’s the next brick by the summer

Fwiw Carter Warren got a 45 yesterday from pff the 16th lowest player on offense. Only cj uzomah grades worse

Max Mitchell and Xavier Newman were 14 and 15 respectively.

Carter Warren won't ever get faster he's pretty much maxed out who he is. Which is a backup on most teams

PFF is BS 1st off 2ndly he missed most of TC and was 3rd string so didnt get much in way of practice I would imagine and again is just a rookie - so Im not ready to write him off as 2nd string because these fool coaches + I dont subscribe to the notion you need 5 1st rounders to be decent

I'm taking the Notre Dame or Penn St Tackle with our high first.

Use Huff to get a good pick for a wr or straight up trade him for a vet wide receiver and draft Pratt to sit behind Rodgers for two years in round three.

They will both be off the board by pick six. Latham should be there at 8. He is a RT, but I would rather take the perfect RT than take Amarius Mims, who can play left, but already showing injury concerns. If Alt ends up where they pick, he is the selection. Fashanu will be gone in the first 4 picks.

First 4 picks will be

Maye, Williams, Fashanu and Harrison JR. Not in that order.

I agree the top 4 may well shake out like that but there could be teams wanting qbs.  The 4 spot could be for a qb.  And there’s more wrs who could sneak into the top spots.

If the jets want a tackle they’re going to get one.  But could they turn the pick into more than just a left tackle?  And if they get into the top 3 it’s a different conversation

Maybe but the main issue is not having the same five week in and week out.  They need to work as one unit.

You need 5 guys who play together, week in and week out. For months, if not years. Jets coaching staff moves these guys around like chess pieces, and that's a recipe for disaster, especially when you have a sh*tty QB and and OC who doesn't have the first clue how to draw up a game plan.

The tackle position requires rare agility to be good

Carter Warren isn't that guy and he never will be

Every team has guys like this who serve as backups.  There just aren’t many tackles with brick’s feet.  Yet teams still move the ball and score.  Helps to have a qb who sees the field and gets rid of the ball and that’s what we don’t have.  Qbs make mediocre lines look good.
