Love to bring this guy in as our next OC but he probably wouldn't do it.  Still getting paid by Carolina and I'm sure he wouldn't want to deal with our mess.  The only saving grace could be an opportunity to be the next HC.

Word has it the coaching staff wanted Stroud, but Tepper wanted Young and overruled them. Now the coach gets fired for it.

Back to the coaching carousel, most of these guys get new jobs quickly because of the insular and incestuous NFL coaching network. Will be the same with Douglas and Saleh.

I mean it’s certainly not common but in Teppers world big hires get a 6 month probationary period and if you fail you are gone. Don’t hate it if you think Reich was a mistake.

Carolina looks like they drafted a bust 1st overall, have 0 talent on that roster, and don’t have their 1st rd pick (which is going to be 1 overall). What a disaster of a franchise. Who would want that job lol

I'd hire him over Saleh/Hackett.

Word I've heard is Young was forced on him.

As we've seen with Wilson, you can only do so much with a trash asset.

Reich is a good coach IMO, whose been in some tough spots and gotten some unfair treatment.  He got less than 1 year in Carolina, meanwhile we're going to go into year 6 of JD and year 4 of Saleh despite no real winning at all.  /shrug.

Of course, I could be wrong on Reich, but then I look and see.....Saleh, and Hackett (and JD), and I think "meh, can't be much worse tbqh".

At least he'd be offensive-minded.

As an OC or offensive assistant? Definitely. He's just not a good head coach and that roster is a disaster left by Rhule. It was a complete rebuild and tear down and reports are that the coaching staff didn't even want to draft this QB.

While I appreciate Tepper's ability to pull the trigger when he feels the coach isn't working out, he is becoming comically inept as an owner.

- First that long-term monster deal with Rhule was a joke, especially for a college coach of his level (we're not talking Saban tier obviously)

- Then hiring Reich (I believe very early on, was one of the first hires last cycle) and spending a lot of veteran assistants

- Override the coaching staff and which QB to draft

- Fire the coach not even a full year into a 4 year deal with a roster that was coming off of a tank job, and a rookie QB that the coaches you hired didn't want

- Quality coaches are not going to want to take that job because he meddles too much, is impatient, and emotionally reactive.

So far he's worse. Firing any coach midseason of their first season for any reason other than being a dirtbag like Urban Meyer is just ridiculous and really poor form. You're not getting a leg up on a coaching search by doing this now. You're only alienating yourself from candidates.

I'm curious, other then him doing that thing that one time as coordinator riding Pederson coattails, what makes Frank Reich, a good coach?
