Vikings will “evaluate” their QB position during their upcoming bye week. After watching QB Josh Dobbs throw four interceptions in the 12-10 loss to the Bears, HC Kevin O'Connell said he will spend the bye week reviewing the best path forward. “We're going to take a look and really evaluate the inventory of plays we have of Josh,” said O'Connell, who thought about making an in-game QB change. “We got healthy. We got Jaren (Hall) back available to us, and then Nick Mullens is available as well.”

He had a bad game and as bad as it was, when the team needed dobbs the most, he drove down the field to put the Vikings up with a few minutes left in the game. The Vikings likely win that game if the defense doesn’t let moore get wide open for a 40 yard catch with a minute left in the game. He’s done enough good with minimal time to get a pass. He’ll be starting after their bye.

It’s almost as if backup QBs are meant to hold the fort down for 2-4 games and not start a season. No season is sustainable with a backup QB. There are outliers of course, but 99% of the time if you lose your starting QB for the year…. your season is done

This. The real lesson here is that backup QBs aren’t meant to start long term. After 2-3 games it’s survival mode.

So dumb, what an ass.  It was his fault you called 3 sh*tty plays to seal the game.  Wasnt his fault your D let DJ Moore roam free w/ the game on the line.

If these morons bench him, I hope they do him right and cut him so he can continue the help the needy tour, he could help your team

They really have a short memory. Just 3 weeks ago, this kid came on as an emergency QB the week that he was traded, had to play not knowing the playbook at all, and rallied them to a big win.

Now, they are going to put it out there he may be benched? Really dumb.

BTW-Justin Fields is coming into his own. Give him a little more time.

100%, especially as I mentioned in another thread, it wasnt like their first meeting was a high scoring affair.  They only had 1 offensive TD w/ Cousins, it was his worst game of the year as well.  And yeah, he played terrible but he did recover and lead them to the go ahead TD.  It wasnt his sh*tty play calling to seal the win after the fumble recovery, it wasnt his decision to punt, he didnt shank the punt, he didnt leave DJ Moore wide open, why did he let Flores call off the dogs? etc., etc, etc.

Well there's a few reasons. Josh Dobbs is a backup QB and the Vikings know it. Dobbs was always on a short leash, especially with Jaren Hall looming. I'll bet they were waiting for him to have his inevitable bad game

That's what people said about Zach Wilson earlier this season. It's been 3 seasons. Either the Jets were right to give Zach 3 seasons or Fields isn't going to turn out.

Dobbs is this year's Mike White. Found a little success and then fell off. People fell in love with the two wins and forget the five losses. We'll suffer years of people complaining that the Jets didn't sign Dobbs when they had the chance. So for that reason I hope the Vikings sign Dobbs to a ten year contract.

But all we needed from the backup this year was a "little success" and some competent play.  We weren't expecting to find a long term starter on the waiver wire.  Dobbs would have saved our season.

JD instead gave us this unwatchable crap.

Dude just threw four interceptions in one game. Maybe you feel differently, but I would not call that competent play.
