That is not how I would describe it. he had two bad drafts and massively whiffed in a QB at 2 overall. He then had a great draft. He took a massive gamble on AR8 to be combined with another great draft. AR8 crashed, the draft was not impactful and he did not have a viable backup QB. He should be gone this offseason but won’t be

Popular Post kevinc855
Never got the allure of JD besides being bald, fat, and what guys seemed to be "a tough guy" after having nerdy Mac. He was never a GM before and leached onto the Eagles success train. He has been an average to ok GM who darafted a bust QB and hired a suspect HC. 11

Popular Post BallinPB
If we are honest with ourselves, JD has been a complete failure here. At this point he's comparable to Mac. If he gets another chance next year which I assume he will and we don't succeed then he will go down as one of the worst GM's in franchise history. The leash has been too long for his performance.

Popular Post BroadwayRay
A big problem with JD is his inability to admit to mistakes and to build safety nets into his strategy for when things go wrong. He's simply a riverboat gambler and he's currently on a very bad losing streak. His talent evaluation skills are no great shakes either. To keep it real though, he's really been the GM for four years. His first year shouldn't count because he was hired late in the season, after the draft and free agency had already been handled by Mccagnan. 7 1

But, ya know, this is the same as saying Curly was a much better GM than Mo and Larry. He's still a disaster and needs to be shown the door. 1

Or would that be rushing him too much and unfair if we judged then? 8 minutes ago, Rhg1084 said: JD is one of the better GMs we’ve had and guys are trying to run him out of town with dumb stats 24-53, on the way to a possible 24-59. 31st, 32nd, 28th, 29th, 30th (so far) ranked Offenses in the NFL. 2 1

bd71
JD certainly has brought in some quality players, but his misses outweigh the positives. It’s time to cut ties with him and Saleh and go in a different direction. The unfortunate thing is, I think they’re both back next season to give it a run with Rodgers.

Popular Post Lith
The talent level on the team is elevated now vs when JD took over, but I am not sure if that says as much about the talent level of this team as it does about the talent level of the team he inherited. Anyway, a GMs job is not just about amassing talent. It is about building a team that can win football games, and based on that measure, Douglas has failed. This whole conversation is academic as in all likelihood he is back for at least one more year. Playoffs or bust. If we miss the playoffs in 24, then it is time for a total housecleaning. 6
