So we're putting all our chips in next season on a 40 year old QB coming off major surgery?

Recommended Posts

Yes

We’ve put all our eggs in the f*cking Richard Todd, Kenny O’Brien, Boomer Esiason, Vinny Testaverde, Chad Pennington, Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson baskets in my lifetime.

But I’m supposed to be up in arms over depending on a 4x MVP and arguable Mount Rushmore QB just because he’s a little long in the tooth?

Jets fans deserve the next Kellen Clemens that comes rolling down the pike.

This team went all in with Arod for 2-3 years, so yeah. You can pencil in OL or WR with the top pick

Neglecting the rest of the QB room is the reason they are in this mess. To not look back on the results of this year and the years prior and not learn from your mistakes is foolish to the point of malfeasance. If you have any sort of common sense JD and the rest of these clowns would say to themselves we have a second shot at a franchise QB in the draft and we can do it right this time! We draft the best kid available and let him sit behind Rodgers to develop behind a HOF'er and hand him the keys when the old man hangs it up. I'd bet money AR plays 1-2 years more tops. If he somehow wins it all next year he'll likely just hang it up then. If this isn't the plan with a top 5 pick then those fools need their heads examined.

Go all out in FA for OL and get Devante. A rookie WR isn't going to win any team a SB let's be real here.

And that's why we're not in the market for a QB this offseason, even though one might be available to us?  I realize we're still 5 games away from the end of the season so a lot can change but, if this keeps up, they have to draft a QB.

At least one. We need to act like we don’t have one because we kinda don’t.

Come on dude don’t root for injuries

I root for the Jets not some washed up douche with one leg he’s gotta go to go.

If you think he’s winning you a Super bowl, you need a reality check. He’s just wasting our time. I’ve watched this crock of sh*t since 1982.

I’ve earned the right to say what I like about this Godforsaken franchise, and I want Rogers the entire coaching staff and the Johnson Buffoons gone.

Im confused, you can't root for the Jets WITHOUT rooting for an injury? Failing to see your logic bud. Ive been a Jets fan since late 70's, somehow I am able to still root for them without hoping a Jets player gets injured. Weird

The Jets is a franchise, Rogers is a person who happens to be signed to said franchise. The two can be mutually exclusive. I can both like the Jets and dislike Rogers. If I wish him gone from said franchise the current quickest method is he can no longer play for said franchise. I hope this clears things up for you?

It doesn’t, you can wish him gone from the franchise without wishing harm on him. I’ll never understand wishing harm on anyone who didn’t do something terrible to you or a family member.

Like it or not I suspect many players think Zach would’ve won that game.  Rodgers will be qb next season.  The oline will be fixed.  They’ll use their higher draft picks on oline, wr, and then use a day two pick on a qb. Zach will most likely be traded. Hopefully saleh won’t be head coach.

All this sounds reasonable.  I just wonder at this point if jd and saleh have the patience to draft someone like pratt and have him in the qb room or if they’re in such defcom 5 mode anyone younger than tannehill is a rookie to them

Short and sweet:

- Yes, you run it back with Rodgers.  With him making a stunning
recovery you know he's going to be healthy and available from
OTA's on

- For the rest of the season Wilson should be the QB.  He's more
mobile in the pocket, he'll actually tuck it and run and he can
stretch the field vertically with his arm.  Boyle & Siemian suck
beyond all measure

- Young players must be incorporated into the offense to determine
if they're worthy to be on the 2024 roster.  Players like Tomlinson,
Brown, Uzomah, Cobb and Cook must be benched

- As far as the off-season is concerned:
  * Don't trade assets for Davante Adams, go after Tee Higgins / Mike
    Adams in free agency
  * Leverage the #1 pick (which looks like a top 10) into a trade down
with a team looking for a QB.  With the "QB premium" you should be
    able to get a 2024 #1 and #2 and a 2025 #1.  My first three picks
would then be OT, QB, G
  * Trade Wilson for a late pick(#5/#6) and allow him a new start
  * Bring in an actual backup QB like Teddy Bridgewater

- 2024 Offense would look like:

  QB: Rodgers, Bridgewater, #2 pick
RB: Hall, Abanikanda, Late draft pick
  WR: Wilson, Higgins/Evans, Lazard, Gipson
  TE: Conklin, Ruckert, Kuntz/Yeboah
OL: #1 pick, AVT, Tippmann, #3 pick, Becton
      Warren, McGovern, Schweitzer, Development OT
