My Prediction: AR8 plays this year regardless

No he will come in healthy next year and the jets offense will stink almost as bad as it does now or he will get hurt again.

I think he will.  to finish the narrative - fastest back from this injury, all the modalities of treatment, yada yada.  Even if its meaningless snaps... he will be in there

I think he plays this year regardless….almost as an evaluation process.

If he plays and the offense continues to look horrible, there will be real pressure to make a coordinator change.

If the offense comes to life under AR, then Hack stays and maybe we just make position coaching changes.

Either way, it allows the team to build momentum and finish strong/have some fun OR it tells us we need offensive staff changes and still we get a chance at a fresh start on O next year.

And change the uniforms…these just have a stink on them that needs changing.

This would be one of the Jetsiest of all moves.

The people who run this team really are dumb enough (see Woodys necklace) to give #8 the green light to play in a dead end season and risk getting their "investment" permanently broken behind this O line. You cant make up this stuff up. The Jets truth is so much stranger than fiction.

He shouldn't take the field this year...

He should be told that he is welcome back next year, but he will have a rookie behind him, hopefully as the 3, to mentor for the year. He will not have Hackett, Cobb, Boyle, etc...With all of that said, you are welcome to QB this team next year. If you can't be on board with that, then we have to take a different route.

I'm so confused as to why so many members on this board thing he will be returning this year. No doctor or respectful media presence has reported that this would even be a possibility. Why are so many blindly listened to rogers hogwash. He will be back next year and we are going to make a superbowl push then. The rest of this season should be spent trying to develop zach and see if he can learn behind ar8 net year.

Some doctor had to clear him for practice.

He was cleared by team doctors and Los Angeles-based surgeon Neal ElAttrache, who is monitoring Rodgers' rehab from afar.

Just LOL at this point

He’d be a sitting duck back there on 1 leg and likely injure another part of his body severely, all for the cause of losing the tankathon

As long as his stream of consciousness is in tact he can regenerate any injuries through clear intentioned visulization and affirmation.  If all else fails he can resort to practicing gratitude.

Even if it is a kneel down, I predict that AR8 will be on the field this year.  The narrative needs to be completed.  we are currently in the 2nd act of of the story and being on the field during a regular game finalizes the third act of the story.  Mark my words.

I don't think it'll be a kneel down.  He'll want to show he can "play" and one drive with a few quick throws will allow him to do that.  Won't be much, but he'll be able to legitimately say he got back on the field faster than anyone said he could.

This.

To be clear, the Jets are morons if they let him step on the field this year. Of course, the Jets are morons, but it just makes zero sense.

But yeah, increasingly it feels like the direction this is headed is going "all in" again next year and the offense just sucking again.
