Not happening (at least not high) , save yourself the disappointment, not happening at all.

Will they draft a QB?  Probably but certainly not high at all, probably a later round pick.

And that's why Douglas shouldn't be allowed to make the pick.

No argument but both he and saleh are 100% safe.  The very moment Rodgers got hurt their jobs became safe no matter what for next year.

Our owner bought into the whole Rodgers shtick and none of these guys are going to admit they were wrong.

It’s fair game, depends on where the team picks and where the QBs land after 1 & 2. Is there a QB worth taking after pick 5? We’ll see. I anticipate OL, but if the QB is there they will take him. If that’s somebody like JJ McCarthy though, that won’t happen

I don't think the Jets will get into the top 3 even if they lose out.

I think at best we select 4th but most likely, we end up selecting 7th overall.

Caleb, Maye, Harrison, Fashanu, Alt will all be gone by the 7th pick.

We will be looking at Bowers (a luxury pick IMO), Nabers, Latham. I think it will be between one of those 3 - NO
QB. Depends on how FA goes, how these guys fare at the combine and pro days and how the Jets value their skill sets.

I think Bowers is fantastic but a luxury pick. I like Nabers but he is not a top 10 gamebreaker talent. Latham, while not a sexy pick, feels like the most sensical selection. Odds are the Jets will let Becton walk and go hard after a top FA OT like Jonah Williams. However, that means they will still need a guy who can step in and play RT. Enter mountain of a man JC Latham. You could probably expect to plug him right in at RT as a rookie. He's that solid on the right side.

But again, depending on FA we may be in desperate need of a WR and Nabers might be a wiser pick.

Depending on where we pick it will be the third best OT like JC Latham, the second best WR like Nabers or Odunze or Coleman or Egbuka, or Bowers the TE out of Georgia.

Yes, we could sneak into the top 5 and/or one of the following could slide to us (Maye, Caleb, Alt, Harrison, Fashanu) but I doubt it. Carolina will take Harrison, the Pats will take Maye, Arizona will take Caleb, the Giants will take Fashanu and the Bears will take Alt. Washington will win a few more games. The Jets will pick 6th and would probably be smart to trade down or take Latham.

We are at 7 now. We have a really good chance of getting into the top 5

Here we are again with a pathetic Jets team looking at a top 5 pick.  Looks like we are keeping this fraud of a coach and GM.  Pea-brained Joe Douglas shouldn't be allowed to make the pick because he is going to pick a player that helps him save his skin in '24.

The Jets should draft a QB for a multitude of reasons- it's a good QB draft, they won't be sniffing top 5 in the '25 draft assuming Rodgers plays and they'll need a QB after Rodgers's retires.

Hell yeah let's pick one!

lol how so?

That means at least two of the following teams win at least one more game than the Jets the rest of the way: WAS, NYG, CHI. OR ARI wins at least two more games than the Jets, NE wins at least 3 more games than the Jets or CAR wins at least 3 more games than the Jets. With only 5 games remaining, highly unlikely.

Now the good thing is that the Jets play WAS and CHI plays ARI. If WAS beats the Jets and CHI beats ARI (and the Jets lose out) we could crack the top 5. But the Jets really have to lose out. Things have to really fall into place just for the Jets to get a top 5 pick.

Frankly, its more likely that a surprise selection is made in the top 5 and a top 2 OT, Harrison or top 2 QB somehow slides to the Jets. Similar to 2022 when Sauce was there at #4 and Wilson was there at #10 because Texans took Stingley at #3 and Falcons took London at #8. Also like when everyone was concerned the Jets would miss out on a top OT in 2020 and both Becton and Wirfs ended up sitting there at #11.

The just lost to the softest NFC South team at home. They are not winning again.

How in the world does anyone in their right mind draft a qb this year?? You have a coaching staff likely gone after next year, you have nobody in the building who can evaluate a qb, you have a hof qb who is running the show who won’t want any part of it, a bad line, a bad offense. If the jets want to draft a qb, they absolutely must get rid of this coaching staff first, and get in some competent offensive people who can identify a qb who can work with what they want to do.
