Popular Post Sonny Werblin
He’s the Safety version of Quincy Williams. So fast, so aggressive. But, right now he’s the last season version of Quincy. He flashes but sometimes he makes the wrong read and runs a million miles per hour in the wrong direction.
Popular Post usanyj
He has developed well...cutting Amos to give him more time was a quiet, solid move. 9

Barkus
He has definitely become playmaker, has a nose for the ball. They should bring him back. He is showing some serious promise. He was considered a developmental pick. I would argue he should have never have been drafted in the third round though. Nobody even heard of him when he was drafted. I am not sure if he was even on any draft lists. Likely should have been 6-7th rounder.

Creepy Lurker
This is why you trade down and accumulate a lot of picks. Sometimes it takes guys years to start playing well and they can still be valuable depth and special teams contributors as they develop. F free agency so much.
JoeNamathsFurCoat
So they do the smart thing with Davis by letting him develop quietly behind the scenes, while throwing a clueless shi—y ZW to the wolves with poor footwork and pocket blindness. This franchise… By their logic, Will McD should be on the field starting every Sunday as the 15th overall pick but we barely see him. What made them so stupid to roll with ZW as unquestioned starter from day 1 and then take forever to turn to MFW?

#27TheDominator
Ashtyn Davis was dinged early in his rookie year but playing every snap by week 8 before he got hurt needing foot surgery. In 2021, when they were the worst defense in football, he started on the PUP list, but played 84% of the snaps. Last year, when they were actually good, he played like 13 defensive snaps total. I think he is out of position a decent amount, but plays hurt and creates turnovers. They did not cut Amos to give him more snaps. They cut Amos to let Amos get some playoff money and to give run to JBC and maybe elevate Trey Dean from the practice squad. Amos was on a 1 year deal and is not likely to get them anything in the comp pick formula since he signed so late this year. Davis might. I assume they will let him test the market and hope he signs a solid deal somewhere that factors in the comp picks, but have a small offer in place to him to come back as a rotational/special teams piece. nj meadowlands
I always figured he would be a guy whose Jets contract would toll after racking up a bunch of uneven / injury riddled years, and then go on to have a solid 8 year career with another team. It's just a Jets thing. Even now that he's figuring it out, we'll probably let him walk anyway. John Abraham, Marcus Coleman, Demario Davis, Jonathan Vilma, Hugh Douglas, et. al. Columbia Jet Fan
The amount of development we've seen on the defensive side of the ball is seriously impressive. Quincy Williams came in here as a failed mid-round pick and has turned into a top LB. Michael Carter, Quinnen Williams, Jermaine Johnson, Mosley, Echols, Bryce Huff, and Sherwood have all been playing significantly better than what they were a few years ago. The fact that Ashtyn Davis is now regularly producing for this team is mind blowing to me considering how bad he was over the past few years. The defensive staff has developed players in a way I have never really seen from a Jets coaching staff. It all means nothing given how inept they are on the offensive side of the ball - but I'm sure in the future I will miss this type of player development.

Cut Jet Penalty Makers
To me, he's emblematic of the entire 2020 draft. He's had a few good plays this year, made a good effort on the safety last week but to be honest that was a bonehead move by Atlanta calling that play in the end zone. After 3 years we should be seeing a lot more impact from him being a 3rd rounder. I would have cut him long ago but let's face it, he's here because he's being protected by JD. 1

Claymation
I believe Ashtyn received some unfair criticism throughout his career by people on the site, to the point they wanted him cut…because…reasons.

Jetkwondo
Love that the Q brothers are singing Ashtyn's praise! Sauce's bowling partner is making some big strikes this year. David Harris
I believed the hype that he was a first round talent and expected him to be a star so with those expectations I’m disappointed overall but acknowledge he’s a good special teamer that has made some impact plays on defense. Good guy to have in the locker room.

They let Davis develop, they let JJII develop, they're letting WMcD develop (who has come on decently and recently), but nah don't get a backup QB this season in what the organization felt would be / should be a red shirt year for Wilson.
