The Zach leak

I believe the poster is @Mogglez who mentioned it and seems as though this guy has some pretty good intel.

When you are on an NFL team that is struggling, let alone freefalling, and is pretty much eliminated, heads start to fall. Guys start to get frustrated. Etc. I am sure there are whispers around the locker room, but the code is, you don't leak to the press. Typically, you speak within your inner circle of position groups, maybe a close friend you have on the team, about your frustrations. I am sure the defense has had a lot to say internally, about the offense, but they have been professional about it. They all know the problem. Everyone on planet earth knows the problem.

That brings us to the Zach Wilson leak. It's my opinion, and credit to @Mogglez for exposing the truth, that Zach Wilson was asked to start this week's game vs the Texans. He discussed it with, in his words, one of his closest friends on the team (Tim Boyle). Both had been replaced. Both probably are frustrated (with no fault other than themselves for being terrible). Zach likely said something, in a hypothetical situation, to a close friend, to the fact that this team and city wants him gone yesterday. He has no future here. His only chance to be a backup in the NFL, will be on another team. The Jets aren't winning anything this year. Is it smart to go out there and play and risk serious injury for a team and fanbase that hates him? (his own doing) The receiver of this conversation (Tim Boyle), hears it, and shares it with his crush, Dianna Russini (ummm yeah). She runs with it. End of story. Tim Boyle is cut the next day.

I take no credit for exposing this.

In addition to the whole thing being another huge embarrassment to the Jets, anyone who cares at all about "journalism" also has to be pretty sad. A team "leaning" to starting a QB who is supposedly "reluctant" to start again isn't exactly reporting in the tradition of Walter Cronkite. Gossip and weasel words abound. Storm clouds gather.

:-)

The theory isn’t out of the question and it wouldn’t surprise me if Boyle was the one who leaked it unintentionally and his words could’ve been taken out of context.

Backup QBs/3rd string QBs are often the target of reporters for info. Boyle was probably the hottest commodity among insiders this past offseason because of his connections with Rodgers/Hackett, and it was an open secret that the Jets were going to sign him, etc.

Being that Boyle was benched, it only makes sense that reporters would reach out to him for intel on who would start this week, and he could’ve said something along the lines of what ESPN reported. The Athletic took it, spiced it up, and sensationalized it because that’s what the media does—especially when it pertains the Jets.

When it’s all said and done, I do expect that we’re going to find out who leaked it, potentially directly from someone like Rodgers himself.

Zack's demeanor on the sidelines while he was benched and his facial expressions said it all to the press also.

You see Zack said it's not me The whole squad stinks. He does have a point despite he hasn't helped.

The offensive coaching on the Jets deserves its own word because  horrible is inadequate.

What’s wrong with being reluctant to play for the Jets?   I’m reluctant to watch a Jets game and have been a fan for a very longtime.   The OC is watching red zone during Jets games trying to figure out what the red zone is.

Lots of players don’t want to play for the Jets.   As long as the ones under contract play it doesn’t matter.

None of this really matters and has nothing to do with the crappy product jets management continues to put on the field.

It's a manufactured distraction. The Jets are running out of "baffle 'em with BS" material, and there's still 5 games to go.

Well it kind of does. Jets management is making a decision on which QB to play and it is alleged that one of those players is saying he doesn’t want to play and the other one of those players was released from the team.

It does matter as we are stuck with this management for at least another year and this type of thing is happening in the Jets clubhouse.

Now if it was Tim Boyle who leaked it, which seems very plausible since he was Aaron Rodgers buddy and supposedly bulletproof and poof, he’s gone, then I think the problem has been solved.  If not, it’s a problem amongst many, in this fractured system.

Zach’s M.O. is to quit. Not a surprise. Quit on his team and threw them under the bus in public last year hence the Mike F$ck!ng White hype and team turning on him.

he scared to play for whatever reason, who cares.  He Jamarcus level horrible. Generational bad. Just cut the little b!tch and let’s move on and be done with this kid.

Boyle is cut a day after the leaks.

Timing is certainly interesting.

Rypien is beyond a joke too though, just like Boyle.

What’s with Joe Douglas’ obsession for slumming it with hideously trashy QBs?

At this point just lose out. Be in a position to reap a better trade package to move back.
