Hughes: Woody, Jets plan to run it back in 2024

This was true months ago, b4 AR ever got hurt. Aaron is at least a 2 yr solution to QB. The fact he went down is no different than AR staying healthy and the Jets just missing the SB.

Aaron and company were always coming back.

The only 3 questions are:

1) what to do with Mechi Becton

2) who to draft? Protection or Weapon, and in which order

3) and, of course, Zach

3b) how much to offer Huff

2b honest, I anticipate a pretty quiet offseason.

Edit: Oh ya, Devonte. I don't see JD trading our #1 if a top Oline or Harry Jr. are withing striking range. And w/o a 2nd rounder, I just don't see how Adams ends up here.

this is a very unique situation. You have a 40 year old “Mount Rushmore” QB on a 2 year deal. He gets hurt. He has a reputation for pondering his future in a dark room after the season ends. Woody isn’t going to risk paying $25 million per snap lol

Logic dictates that he is not interested in his last season being the first year of a rebuild because the new  GM will cut and trade all the good players and try to go young.

Good. Everybody knows the reason that the season went down the tubes.

Do not make rash decisions based on fan feedback… amirite guys? Isn’t that what Woody would always do but the Mara’s wouldn’t?

Hold the ground and let’s see what happens next season before heads come off. If next year is a bust, injuries or not, then the axes can come out

what do you mean what to do with him? They hate each other. they turned down his 5th year option and put him in the doghouse all summer

Bectons going to walk it's a done deal

I want to take up a GoFundMe to hire Ozzie Newsome as Director of Football Ops, just for two years. Come in and do a little housekeeping. Get the ship righted.

The Pre-Season Prognosticators never get it completely or even mostly right.  If they did, people would get rich betting in the pre-season.

Before the opener the Pre-Season Prognosticators thought the Jets were a top 6-8 team.  But after seeing this team play thus far, I think it is safe to say that that Jets were not a top 6-8 team even if AR8 was still playing, unless by some reason AR8's magic mushrooms could have the OL intact.

So, to get to the same place, the Jets need to do more to build the roster.  McDIV over Broderick Jones really hurts.   You can't have too many of those.

Some more interesting insight from Hughes re: Hackett’s offense for the All-22 fans

I'm not saying our QBs played well but I don't love the screenshots for open WRs.  A DB can run toward the ball (and away from the WR he's covering) after the ball is thrown.  So how do we know these WRs were as open as his screenshots suggest?
