Garret Wilson not targeted till 3rd quarter

Recommended Posts

Alot of news and talk about Wilson, from he is emotional to he is just a hard worker etc.

He is saying he has to figure it out or something to that effect, work harder , practice faster etc.

It's ridiculous, the game should revolve around you young stud. It's so crazy that Gibson is getting more targets.

Just one more painfully obvious point that Hackett is crap and doesn't know what he is doing.

This game was crap, the offense is an embarrassment. God damn fire hackett.

Oh final stat line was like 3 passes for 30 yards or something stupid.

Smart teams scheme their best players to maximize offensive efficiency.

You either feed the ball to that individual, or you scheme them in a way that opens up others to be wide open.

We saw that GW17 was being doubled and said, "Okay folks, let's get ready for next week."

Didn't help that Becton and Tomlinson turned into matadors .

And this is the other part......

GW needed some scheme to help him get open and Hackett is clueless as usual

Yeah funny how every coach in football can get their number 1 guy the ball but we can't.

Its not even that we are not capable of scheming anyone open, but the idea that we don't even try to target our stud players. Every week hacket rolls out his crap plays and surprises himself to see Wilson not get any targets after he didn't target him the whole game.

It's just so demoralizing. Wilson should be the first target every play and the guy we are taking shots to down field not Gibson or Conklin or whoever.

We went an entire half with out seeing Wilson. This is the thing, there is no excuse for it

It's almost hard to explain because not targeting your number 1 best wr is not player.is so stupid it is unheard of. I have never seen a team not target their best player.

This alone is a fireable offense, among many with Hackett.

Look what Belicheck did to Kelce yesterday , smart teams scheme away a teams top asset especially when they don't have many. The play was to get the ball to Hall, Gipson, TE's on short crossers and quick hitters , the problem is the QB's didn't even have time to get those off.

The Dolphins took away GW with Ramsey and safety help. In addition our QB's had about a nano second to get the ball to him even if he did get open.

They didn't take him away we didn't even try that is the difference and by the way GW is good enough to beat Ramsey every day of the week.

They alternated btwn doubling him and sticking Ramsey on him who locked him up.....

Some days it just isn't your day. When you have pressure in the QBs face after a millisecond you don't have to cover for that long....

The other team wants to win this one i guess Emer should just let them.....

Or maybe target g Wilson to win the game.

I started GW over Davante Adams thinking he’d get force fed targets 🤡

thank god I had a bye week as Breece got a cool 12 yards on 6 carries

entire offense is a HUGE risk playing.

two biggest playmakers were not used yesterday lol

Funny Kelce had 7 targets. And KC decided just to use the running back to score since Kelce wasn't open as.much.

Too bad we don't have a talented running back that can catch and run well.

Of course the real problem is gameplan and coaching. Every team in the league will look to sh*t down Garrett Wilson. You guys seem to think we need to let them. We do not.

In fantasy in my home league hall and Garret Wilson who  I wanted were both taken super early, Wilson was pick like 9 and hall was somewhere in the second round. I much rather them be good than me winning the fantasy league this year but Hackett calling plays you can't play anything jets

Let's credit Jalen Ramsey (hate that guy!) with doing a great job on Wilson.  Let's also fault the Jets for not having a truly viable WR2 to take some pressure off.  Let's also fault the Jets for fielding an OL/QB combo that couldn't get the ball out in rhythm to GW.  Let's further fault Hackett who still can't scheme openings for GW when other teams (including Miami) obviously can for their #2 when their WR1 goes down.  And finally, let's fault ourselves for having any hope that this team would somehow string together two consecutive good games rather than laying their biggest egg of the year.

A matador actually does something...Becton was basically sleep walking

You have to ask yourself this kid who played so well as a rook, now healthy and obviously still huge person, could the scheme be effecting him too? Or the coaching?

Everything is suspect.

If he was on a team with a decent coach it would be no question he is failing, but on this team I think he probably could sign with the Texans and be a all pro.

I just want to say that I didn't want to fault ourselves. In fact we should not fault ourselves. Expecting hacket to at least be competitive is not wrong.

He is just not good coach.

But yea

The OL was getting beat like a drum from the very first snap. Everything else crumbles.

Did these guys watch the game?  No QB or skill player can do anything when every snap is a jail break.  It was insane.

134 target this season? I'm surprised honestly.

God our offense sucks for him to have that many and have such a crappy season, I mean team would have a hard tim replicating if they were trying

Screens and short passes would have helped. Pitch to the outside with extra blockers, two RBS to help block on slant routes, we screens...alot could have been tried but with our play book sadly yes you are right

before yesterday it was GW  134 targets, Hall and Conklin had about 65 each and then it was Lazzard with about 42 targets.

even now he has 138 targets and is 5th in the NFL. problem is his catch% is 57%. which sucks.

He'll be demanding a trade out of here...make book on it. It's costing him big bucks staying here and he's right.

Yup.  Only saving grace is if Rodgers returns and plays at a high level.  Barring that, he’ll be shooting his way out of town by next offseason.  We’re the Jets so I expect nothing good.
