Latinlawyer
Although I am happy that the Mets are off to a great start, i really want to see them play the Braves, Cards, Giants and Cubs. These are the teams I feel we will need to beat to make it to the WS. Thoughts? LL
faba
Every game is important - first or last - sure beats starting 0 and 5 last year. Braves are the team to beat until proven otherwise- that is the key for this team

Braves are the team to beat until proven otherwise- that is the key for this team Great Things: 1) Bannister pitching well in his first two starts. 2) Reyes playing SOLID ball. 3) Wright playing MVP ball 4) Lo Doca looking like a great General in the field, behind the plate, and hitting well 5) Glavine pitching very well 6) Duaner Sanchez looking great, Heilman too. AFJF
The Mets haven't beaten anyone yet but you can't hold that against them. They've beaten the teams they've played and thats all that you can ask of them at this point. To take the first six games and say it establishes them as a WS contender would be silly. To enjoy the good start and hope for continued success would be natural. Congrats on the strong start. They're a team with some damn good young players who will develop in to superstars. Enjoy LL. AFJF
We will topple the braves this year. You guys have as a good a shot as you've had in years. I think one more solid vet SP gets you guys over the edge.

We say it every year, and it doesn't happen. I'll believe it when I see it. It's truly amazing how the Braves have literally dominated the NL East for the past decade and a half. I feel we have the horses to do it this time, finally. But it's a long season, and we have yet to play the Braves just yet. I won't be counting them out. The braves have always been the thorn in our sides and even in 2000, we relied on the Giants to beat the Braves to clear the way to the WS. Bottom line, we are off to a great start BUT until we face AND beat the Braves...the discussion will be premature. LL
124
We will topple the braves this year. If you don't beat Atlanta out for 1st in the NL East this year then consider this year a failure and a disgrace.
GimmeShelter
If you don't beat Atlanta out for 1st in the NL East this year then consider this year a failure and a disgrace. I will be fine with a WC birth and a good post season run that ends with WS.. The Braves are still talented as are the RedSox. Is the Yankee season a disgrace if the Sox win the East? Listening to Franseca and Dog now trying to attack Willie's moves on the FAN is a joke.

I dont think that's nearly as big a deal... considering your payroll was twice as much, and won the division by like half a game last year? laugh... Yanks have 4 rings in the past 10 years to fall back on, so they have won something. 11 straight trips to the playoffs. Not bad.

GimmeShelter
Solid win tonight with Pedro working improving to 2-0. Beltran finally looks like he is starting to get comfortable. Upcoming schedule remains fairly soft.
