Boston Red Sox center fielder Coco Crisp stands on ...

BOSTON - Coco Crisp has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Red Sox, keeping the man who replaced Johnny Damon in center field in Boston until at least 2009, the team announced Wednesday.

The deal with Crisp, who is on the disabled list with a broken finger, also includes a club option for the 2010 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Crisp, 26, was acquired by Boston in a six-player deal with Cleveland this offseason. Crisp, who bats leadoff, had his best season last year in Cleveland, when he hit .300 with 86 runs scored, 16 homers and 15 steals.

This season, Crisp was hitting .333 (8-for-24) with six runs scored in five games before breaking his left index finger while trying to steal third last Saturday in Baltimore.

Before the extension, Crisp's contact was set to expire at the end of the year.

The team's announcement on Crisp comes two days after the Red Sox signed slugger David Ortiz to a $52 million, four-year extension that keeps him in Boston until at least 2010.

In somewhat related news (mula)- for yesterdays home opener, some of the parking lots surrounding Fenway Park were charging a $90 parking fee. ARE YOU FRICKIN' KIDDING ME??????????

Now I know Boston is an expensive city - but Holy Gouging the Citizens of the Commonwealth, Batman!

Reason number 91 why some people in Boston truly are Mass-holes

Thats just sick....$90 is insane...I hate paying $20 in Tampa when the Yankees come to town....couldn't imagine paying 90 anywhere.
