Never really followed him once he left. Was kinda hoping he would get a shot with  SF, see if he developed. How’d he do in Carolina?

16 TDs, 16 INTs and 15 fumbles in his 2 years in Carolina.  Benched twice for PJ Walker.

So, ya know, he was stellar.  Just stellar.

And he had the worst surrounding cast.

Take another look at those receiving options in 2013-14. The only one worth a damn was Decker playing with a hammy injury from preseason until late November, reinjuring it a couple times during the season. The WR1 in 2013 was a toss up between a has-been Holmes or Jeremy Kerley.

Whatever. While Geno eventually showed he was a worthwhile talent but as Jets they all sucked. Badly.

Darnold was throwing to josh malone, jeff smith and Chris hogan, he also had a center that literally could not snap the football at all and had an awful coach.

He did well when he had christian mcaffery and lousy when he didn't.

This is why we need to draft a rookie QB and repeat history again. They have all proven to THRIVE in the trash environment that this organization provides them.

But seriously, It’s literally neglect and the Jets should be banned from drafting rookie QBs with the intent of starting them until they pass an offense competency test with a minimum level of OL and skill position talent.

ALL TIME worst offense by a team is completely unacceptable. I don’t want to hear anyone mention drafting a rookie QB until this goddam offense is fixed and stable.

I heard rubbing one out will get rid of a Woody. Go take one for the team. We'll all appreciate it.

These Jets QBs and their fumbling, it is out of control.

Next combine workout. Toss a kid the football. Hold for 3 minutes. Hand it back.

Did the football touch the ground? No? Okay, you may proceed to the rest of the workout.

He led all of FBS in turnovers his final year at USC, with fumbles being his primary issue, so this wasn’t even a surprise at the pro level.

We fans just hoped it would go away or get better and it never did.

You're 100% correct. People revise history to fit their narrative. Darnold may be better than Wilson, but frankly I don't want either to be my QB.

They all also started right out of the box.  Darnold missed a few early games as did Wilson.  If these guys had a chance to sit and watch they might have been way more successful.  So much of the game is between the ears and if the mind isn’t right they fail.

I’d take a group of sanitation workers playing a pick up game in the street on their lunch break  over that group.

So disgusted by this organization not knowing how to put at least 1 dangerous player on the field on Offense.  Breece Hall seems like the 1st RB drafted that can be in the same conversation as Freeman McNeil, who was drafted HALF A CENTURY minus 7 years ago.

This is why I want so badly for Zach to be good.  To end this downward spiral.

Rodgers won’t survive next year, we draft another quarterback in 2025, it takes 2-3 to determine they suck, and we repeat.

It’s an endless loop of poop!!!!

Not all season long for 2+ seasons. Malone rarely saw the field, and Smith/Hogan were bottom of the depth chart guys who only spot-started a few games.

The 2020 receiving corps was awful but did have actual NFL players (e.g. Crowder, Perriman, and Berrios) who were receiver-royalty compared to 2013 receiving corps:

  • WR1 Santonio Holmes (injured/post-Lisfranc career was over in all but name, and still started 11 games)
  • WR2 Stephen Hill (career useless player, started 11 games)
  • WR3 Jeremy Kerley (started 8 games -- with 523 yards, the most productive member of this receiving corps)
  • WR4 David Nelson (started 6 games)
  • WR5 Clyde Gates (started 2 games)
  • TE1 Jeff Cumberland (12 starts)
  • TE2 Kellen Winslow II (3 starts, running on fumes, if you want to call him moving his legs "running" at that point)
  • TE3 Zach Sudfeld (started 2 games)
  • Plus toss in a dash each of Greg Salas, Konrad Reuland, Ben Obamanu (his brief career was effectively over), and a couple other people you never heard of who I don't even remember.

This isn't much better (if at all) from 2012, with Keller never really healthy all season, plus Holmes going on IR in early October:

  • Jeremy Kerley
  • Chaz Schillens
  • rookie Stephen Hill
  • Clyde Gates
  • round 2 of has-been Braylon Edwards
  • Jeff Cumberland
  • Konrad Reuland
  • rookie Jordan White, and some others about as useful as White: Mardy Gilyard, Jason Hill, Patrick Turner, Dedric Epps, Hayden Smith. I only loosely remember half of these names. Oh yeah -- and shirtless Tim Tebow jogging in the rain.

Admittedly, this is like arguing which bowl of diarrhea smelled the worst. A futile argument...so naturally I participated. :)

"We will never see another streak like this"

Jets - "hold my beer, we ain't done yet" :D

It's like pitching 2 no-hitters in a row, or hitting 2 grand slams in one inning.  How many times do you get the opportunity to beat this record?  If not now, when?  If not us, who?

This doesn't even include Hackenberg in the middle who was so bad he couldn't even make his way on the field.

That's the truly remarkable thing. The same org that trotted Zach Wilson out there for 30+ games looked at Hackenberg in practice and said "we can't play this guy. He just sucks too much."

Kind of astounding. Makes you want to see the practice footage.

you don't have to see the practice footage watch his last year at Penn St

this player started out half decent as a freshman but by the time the Jets drafted him he had completely burned out or got the yips or something awful. the thinking was they could coach him back to what he was but he was like a candy bar you leave in the car in the summertime you can't just put it in the freezer and say it's a snickers bar again

There's a rumor that Darnold could be going to Tampa Bay to replace Mayfeld who they might not re-sign.

So he's going to rejoin Todd Bowles, his first NFL coach?  The coach who drove Tom Brady into retirement?
