Popular Post rangerous
McGovern is much better than he gets credit for. Sure he’s not all pro but he played most games. If he helped tipp, that’s a huge plus. Hopefully they bring him back as depth. 10 1 1

Mike White's ribs might disagree with that assessment 🫠

Yes, he was extremely durable until his season ending injury in October.

Outside of that, I have liked how steady he's been 1

Honestly I am still shocked how no other teams signed him before the Jets brought him back on such a cheap deal.

The league didn’t sign a 29yr old veteran center with a clean bill of health who hadn’t missed a game in countless years for a reason. He is constantly pushed back into the QB. Effing terrible. 6

He’s definitely not terrible, but not great by any means either, he has been a decent player, and he’s better than any of the other depth the Jets have. 2
Falco21
McGovern has and always will be a great addition, in my mind. Guy even took a massive cut to return knowing he would possibly be cut sometime very soon. Guy has been an incredible teammate. Kudos to him! 1

McGovern/Nixon in 72 was my freshman year of HS. Was only year 3 of our SuperBowl drought. What did I know?😁

Spot on. He was demonstrably, reliably bad during the entire 2022 season. Teams watched the tape and correctly concluded it was an accurate reflection of what they might expect to get if they signed him. Crazy how that works huh? We hear it all the time “you are what you put on tape.” Weird that some refuse to believe it.

He took a pay cut because he's a good dude, not because no one else wanted him.
Jet_Engine1
So we're paying him to be a defacto position coach now? Cool.
Warfish
I'm glad Tippmann got something of value from McGovern. With that said, mentoring and coaching is the job of a coaching staff. McGovern is no longer good enough for a roster spot at any cost-level, we can and should demand better. Nothing personal.
