All those teams have some stability at QB and are set up for success in the near future. The Jets go all in on 40 year old QB with a maybe two year window. Then what? Another decade of ineptitude? 8

Tampa Bay won the Super Bowk doing that 3 years ago. I doubt anyone thought that Rodgers would get hurt 4 plays into the season. The acquisition of Rodgers was popular at the time. Obviously, because of his injury it didn’t workout his season. 20/20 Hindsight 7 2

That’s cute.
UntouchableCrew
Over the last decade? 2014-2023? Clearly the Jets. Nobody else is really close. No playoffs, one winning record. I’ve often felt Jets fans overdramatize the overall lack of success of the franchise throughout history — it’s been a “bottom third” franchise but we have a Super Bowl and have had a few runs in the 80s and late 90s-2000s where we were pretty good. We compare favorably (or similarly) to more franchises that you’d think. But during the 2011-present run it’s just been miserable and we’re the worst NFL team over that span. Nothing to feel good about at all, really.

JetPotato
It's not completely accurate to say the Jets are the worst franchise in the NFL. They're the worst franchise in all of American professional sports. Unquestionably. Thanks, Woody.
GangGreened
They are a joke of a franchise, a laughing stock. The feeling towards Jets fans has shifted to empathy. Saleh and Douglas are both terrible. Just as bad as their predecessors.

Rodgers stats in 2022 weren't better than the average QB. The Jets are a desperate, poorly managed team. Worst in all of sports. No competent GM or coach in 13 years.

They have a real coach, a real GM that run that team.

JD and Saleh had to make the playoffs this year. there were plenty of QBs ( Carr, Minshew, Brissett, and maybe a few others who could have done that). but once Rodgers got here it was SB or bust. why would they want that kind of pressure on them.? and JD hates giving up draft picks and pick the one QB who he had to give up 2 prime picks AND a swap. Favre was Woody, Tebow was Woody, and now Rodgers is Woody. cant blame anybody for doing what his boss wants.

Another Joe Douglas/Jets gut punch is when the Packers beat the Bears tonight, in a win and you're in situation. A year ago, the Packers were faced with the same situation in the last game of the season, but Rodgers came up short vs the Lions and the Packers missed the playoffs.

If Rodgers had stayed healthy, does anyone really believe that they'd have been a real contender with this offensive line and only one viable receiving threat?

Larz
At some point you realize that it’s not the jets thing to win and give the fans something to be proud of or you continue to delude yourself into thinking they were a couple moves away this year, just like the year before. Take the green pill and accept the results. After the 2025 house cleaning , there will be a tear down rebuild with second class newbies. They might be good in 2027. maybe.

Beerfish
The Jets were on their way to building something competitive here, but then they got impatient after preaching 'patience' to the fans for years. They went after the franchise Qb a year too early and should have kept Darnold for one more year. When Wilson did not work out they went into full 100% panic mode with the Rodgers move, they convinced themselves they were a QB away and also the utter fable that a good QB fixes everything on a team. They went so 'all in' on one player they destroyed the rebuild of the team in the process. The Owner, GM and coach get exactly what they deserve. Unfortunately the fans once again get what they do not deserve.
