Carter's former players (Lewan), soon to be former players (Becton) and current players (Hall) openly mocking his abilities is about as big an indictment as you can get.

But the Jets retain him and Coach Word Salad bangs on about what great job he is doing.

Also, anyone hoping that Becton is going to return (JD) is going to be disappointed. Is Becton really going to re-sign to be coached by a guy he just ridiculed in public? Somehow, I doubt it.

Lewan’s major complaint about Carter was that he drove his OL so hard in practice that it caused that Tennessee OL to break down every year. I’m not sure that’s what occurred here, but obviously the Jets OL went to hell injury-wise, and Becton looked like a shell of himself at the end of the year. Conservatively, the Jets are going to need to sign two free agent OL this offseason, and they’ll be doing so with an OL coach who’s loathed by veterans and a turf field notorious to snapping tendons. Saleh is going to keep his buddy Carter because Carter got low-end fringe players like Jake Hanson up to speed at the end of the year while ignoring the fact that his big-ticket veterans all seem to hate him.

I don’t know how any fan here can root for this franchise. I’m finally at the point where I couldn’t care less about anything and if they happen to miraculously win, great but it’ll be short lived because there are serious flaws with this whole organization. What a joke of an organization. You can do your job sh*tty and so long as you are a friend of Robert's you get to stay employed. Woody needs to step in here and tell Saleh to fire Carter or be fired himself. If Woody truly wants to win, he must send the message that if the HC will not hold his assistants accountable ownership will. And where the hell is JD in all of this? He's an O line guy and he can't recognize that Carter is a dumpster fire? I have never been more disgusted with a HC. I can accept incompetence but this is outright corruption. Saleh is stealing from every fan that pays for a ticket to attend a game or to watch it on TV. He cares more about Keith Carter than he does about the success of his players or the organization. **** Robert Saleh! This team will never succeed because of him. Any success they have will be in spite of him.

As optimistic as I am inclined to be, everything that has happened since the Rodgers injury sends the clear message that if you thought 2023 was bad just wait until the Jets unveil the 2024 season.

Remember when we laughed at the Lions after Dan Campbell's introductory press conference . . . good times.

Please. Several other teams had injuries throughout their O line and they didn't completely collapse like the Jets O line. And your defense of this guy is that while he didn't get the starters to play better, he certainly did a bang up job with the fringe guys?

The Jets don’t practice in pads during the season. Becton as we already know is a clown, continues to be a clown.

I don’t know really anything about Carter. I do know the offensive line magically got better once Richie Rich was out for good. I’d bet decent money they disliked him more than they disliked KC.

Lewan was also suspended for drugs and is currently out of football at age 32. I believe he now is an understudy for Barstools wack pack. He was a chronic complainer when he was in the league as well.

Saleh is really clinging to the oline injury excuse for their failure.  Okay, injuries do have a place but these guys are all professional football players and should know how to pass and run block.  And while it’s better if these guys play as a unit, I just can’t see them all being so bad at the same time.  The injuries should be a reason to not do an objective evaluation of the coaches and players.  Maybe carter was released because he piped up against the oline coach.

That's a head scratcher. Magically got better? Have you completely wiped the the Falcons, Dolphins and Browns game with Semien under center from your memory?  They were bad and at best inconsistent all season. And they had a good game with Wilson under center vs the Texans. How do you explain that? Caveat to the ZW haters - this is not a defense of Wilson. I am just pointing out that you can not say the O line got magically better without ZW because reality says they had bad games without him and some okay games with him. So, don't blame ZW for the O line sucking, it's their own damned fault.
