JETS better than most teams in AFC since 2001

Recommended Posts

AFC East 🏈 Playoff Wins & Title Games since 2001

1️⃣ NE Patriots - 24 Wins (13 AFC Title Games)
2️⃣ New York Jets - 6 Wins (2 AFC Title Games)
3️⃣ Buffalo Bills - 4 Wins (1 AFC Title Game)
4️⃣ Miami Dolphins - 0 Wins (0 AFC Title Games)

Sometimes we need a little perspective (especially when your favorite team is in a big market with big expectations) Since 2001 the New York Jets have had more playoff success than the Bills or Dolphins.

In fact look at how the AFC stacks up since 2001 when making it to the title game…

▪️Class Leaders
Patriots - 13
Steelers - 6
Chiefs - 5

▪️Multiple Appearances
Colts - 4
Broncos - 3
Ravens - 3
NY Jets - 2
Titans - 2
Bengals - 2

▪️One Timers
Raiders - 1
Bills - 1
Chargers - 1
Jaguars - 1

▪️Replace with an XFL team? 😂
Browns - 0
Texans - 0 (they have a chance this year!)
Dolphins - 0

If only they awarded trophies for having the 2nd most playoff wins in your division over the last 20 years.

The Jets would be “right there”, as they say.

There are 6 teams with more title game appearances than the JETS but 7 teams with less.

Just some perspective… some people want new owners and GMs every other year… meanwhile 7 other teams have it worse and only 6 have had it better.

I used title games because making the playoffs and getting bounced is useless.

How about since 2014? How do the Jets measure up this last decade?

I did since 2001 since it’s the “end of an era” with Bellichik (possibly Tomlin), Carrol all out… Andy Reid is the last man standing but it looks like the top will have a shakeup finally.

I mean sure if you want to move the mark go ahead but you do that research to back your point I already did mine to back mine… why would I randomly change my sample to help your argument? 😂

The Jets had a respectable run from Parcells through Rex with multiple playoff appearances from 97 to 2011. Including 3 AFC Championship appearances. Unfortunatly  for STH like myself almost all were road games and almost everyone started from the wildcard. Becoming a distant memory now though.

How much is woody paying u

The last 10 years sucked… but Woody brought the most overall playoff success of any 20 year span of ownership.

If his next 10 are like his first 10 the JETS would be a top 5 team

Did you know that since 2014 that the KC Royals have been to more WS (2) and won more WS (1) than the Yankees? 😎We could do this kind of stuff all day.

This reminds me of the story about the guy that drowned in a lake with an average depth of 6”……
