PaulHolmes1962
I think this would be a bad move. The last thing the Jets need is another mega bust who has talent, but no feel for the position. 2 1

Beerfish
I actually suggested him last year if I recall. He has regressed though and seems to be getting worse each year.
Prodigal Syndicate
Pass. I don't think his style of play makes for a good back up and he seems to have peaked and regressed.

varjet
I would be looking for a backup with something close to Rodgers’ brain even if he does not have Rodgers’ skills. I think as a general matter the Jets need to get smarter as a team. No more Zach Wilsons, Becton, Mims, etc.
Green Ghost
You guys are amazing. Other than the 3-4 snaps we got from Rodgers, Mitch Trubisky would be the best QB this team has had under center since Fitzpatrick in 2017. 3
Jet_Engine1
Trubisky is better than Boyle and Zach. Thats... about it.

The Jets need Gregorio De Falco to tell Douglas to get the F'ck back on deck instead of hiding.

Wit
He’s bad. He’s a better version of Zach; but still Zach. There are better options out there. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
Aussie Jet
Trubisky is horrible. He's the worst of the three QBs the Steelers rolled out last season. Mason Rudolph is also out of contract. The Steelers will likely let him test the market before giving him a contract to stay as Pickett's backup. I would much rather the Jets sign Rudolph to back up Rodgers than Trubisky, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Rudolph go back to the Steelers because there's a real chance that he ends up being their starter at some stage during the season (because Pickett is horrible as well).
jamesr
I'd rather draft a mid to late round guy and hope to strike gold. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk

I was also hoping that Rudolph might be an attainable backup option for us. But it looks like the Steelers will try hard to retain him. With the Trubisky release, there's a good chance that the Steelers and Rudolph agree a deal, if they haven't already.

Trotter
8 hours ago, Green Ghost said: I’m listening… Sam Howell which they should be able to get for a low pick or who knows wait long enough and maybe he gets released based on what Wash does in the draft. He is raw and uneven but there is talent there - I do not trust the Jet coaches in any way with him but maybe watching Rodgers for 2 years does it.

TuscanyTile2
Brissett, Jake Browning, Tyrod, or Minshew (probably in that order). Any of those would be just fine.

Warfish
I haven't thought about it, because he is very bad. Better than the chuckleheads we ran out as backups in 2023 (Zach, Boyle, Siemian). But still, we should be aiming higher for once.
Jack Straw
Nothing is more frustrating than watching a QB with physical tools who has been programmed to behave like a noodle-armed game manager. Talk about guys who have been over-coached, and Trubisky comes to mind. The man is a walking vagina.
August
These threads get made and everyone is always saying “no thanks”. He’s a backup what are you expecting? Pat Mahomes? My preference would be trading for Sam Howell, he’s young with upside who has some starting experience but I’m not against Trubisky either. 1
Augustiniak
If douglas thinks that when rodgers gets hurt, that trubisky is going to get the jets over the hump and save his job, then woody should contact korn ferry now.

peebag
Who in their right mind would want to be the backup qb for the Jets???? The pickings will be slim and we would be lucky to get Mitch as a backup. 1
