Chiefs Guard Played Second Half of Superbowl With Torn UCL

Recommended Posts

I don’t think it’s that unusual for players to play with these injuries.  They can be effectively braced and it’s not like these guys will fumble the ball.  Same thing with a lot of knee injuries.  Who was that dline guy the jets drafted bone on bone condition n his knee?  Running backs and wrs need full motion of their joints so they can’t play with torn or stretched tendons.

Makes AVT seem like a wuss now 😂

Makes it seem a lot less like an all pro guard is required opposite AVT is what it seems.

While Tomlinson + the weekly-changing round robin of AVT backups doesn’t meet this threshold, it would seem that merely adequate is…adequate. It’s not like either of KC’s tackles - both of whom were replaced in the offseason - were much to speak of either.

This is doable.

Agreed. It seems to be about pain threshold with some of these guys.  Brian Winters played with dislocated shoulders, torn lligaments, etc.  They just taped him up, patted him on the back and said "use your other arm!"
