NIGHT STALKER
From Jets Confidential..... By: Hoss Aultman The Jets are bringing in one of the draft's top safeties for a visit. Tennessee safety Jason Allen will be visiting the Jets before the draft. Allen is considered a second or third round-type prospect. But if it wasn't for a serious hip injury in college, he probably would have been a first round consideration. A dislocated hip ended his senior season prematurely. However, he was a tremendous player in 2004, and if he can get back to that form, he could turn into a star on the next level. The Jets might be able to grab him with one of their two third round picks.
The Troll
I would be very pissed if we drafted a safety on the 1st day.
mudcat21
How many Safeties do we need on this team.
Boozer76
How many Safeties do we need on this team. That depends, how many of our Safeties are Bradway picks? Half of them are likely useless.
SeniorFlaJet
That depends, how many of our Safeties are Bradway picks? Half of them are likely useless. What is more likely that some of them may not fit what they will be trying to do with the defense. Nothing wrong with working out other safeties as potential draftees, although I hope not higher in the draft than the comp pick at 3 for a pick at the minimum. quietjets
Who said JEts interested in Allen? It was just pre-draft workout/interview..
RSJ
Kerry Rhodes has proven nothing. I would not be suprised at all if the Jets grab a safety and/or a bigger CB/FS type to compete with Coleman and Rhodes.

I really don't worry about what positions they draft (after the first round) because we're building something. Potentially upgrading talent at certain positions or making current guys even better it's all good.

We need competition at all positions and to draft BAP.

We need competition at all positions and to draft BAP. Exactly, and in a way it makes the draft a little less stressful because it keeps me from having to have a certain player at a certain pick. Besides, we were 4-12 last year, no one on the squad could have been that great (except maybe Vilma who, btw, is one of those players during a draft I felt we had to have).
