Here's The MPH Of The 5 Fastest Receivers At Combine Today

The receivers were moving at Saturday's Combine and Amazon Web Service's "Next Gen Stats" gave us a great idea of just how fast.

According to AWS, Longhorns star Xavier Worthy, who set the all-time mark in the 40-yard dash, clocked an insane 24.41 MPH on his record-setting sprint. One of his teammates wasn't too far behind though...

Here's a look at the five fastest times from the receivers in Indianapolis:

  1. Xavier Worthy, Texas (24.21 MPH)
  2. Adonai Mitchell, Texas (23.84 MPH)
  3. Jermaine Burton, Alabama (23.72 MPH)
  4. Brenden Rice, USC (23.70 MPH)
  5. Xavier Legette, South Carolina (23.66 MPH)

Fans were pretty blown away by the numbers on social media - particularly by Worthy after his record-setting 40 time.

"If Xavier Worthy running 24.41 mph at 165 mph is special ... Then Xavier Legette running 23.66 mph at 56 pounds heavier should be extra special ... Not saying he'll be a great WR, but that is freak athlete material," a user said.

"Thats 0mph to 24mph to make it sound even more crazy," another replied. "In 4 seconds holy cow."

"Brenden Rice is at 208 pounds ... Xavier Legette is at 221 pounds ... Their speed is pretty darn impressive too."

40 times seemingly get faster with each passing year. Although John Ross' record of 4.22 stood for seven Combines before Worthy broke it this weekend.

Will anyone ever get below a 4.20?

Yes someone will get lower than 4.2 at some point in time.

Legatte looks like DJ Metcalfe just a beast body wise.  I have already seen him  being down graded just as metcalfe as before his draft.

As I've said many times, if Douglas does not draft at least two wrs in this draft (no matter what we do in FA) he needs to be shipped out

Someone will get under 4.2. I think Christian Coleman can do it now. He has an insane start and acceleration. Probably the best of all time in that regard.

Eventually a football player will do it though.

Edit: just looked it up in the random chance Coleman was timed. While at U of Tennessee, he got timed at 4.12. And his start is better now. So that gives us an idea what the fastest human can hit at the moment.

Bo Jackson was timed around 4.15 from what I’ve read before combine existed (gotta believe it or not up to you).
