Add more as the season (+losses) progress. you guys need to replace Jorge as well, seeing as he has never won a batting title. Lets see if we can fix it with more money. What are you going give-up to get them? The Marlins (ditto the Twins) are not stupid enough to let Willis become a FA without getting something for him. Which leads you to your biggest problem; your farm is barren.
Jet/BosoxFan
2 problems with Torrii and Dontrelle... they're both not over-the-hill and they both play the game of baseball with heart and determination. They wouldnt fit in as Yankees. Plus, neither one of them are grossly overpaid yet and both are seemingly likable dudes and not p*ssy malcontents, so if youre looking for a "perfect Yankee fit" for a CF and a pitcher... think more along the lines of Kevin Millwood and Barry Bonds. Both fit the profile, both should be easy to come by after this year, and you'd have to give up very little, if NOTHING for either, 'cuz as PFISKH pointed out, the Yankee farm system is in shambles
Maxman
the Yankee farm system is in shambles You know the game. You like to talk smack. You should not mix the two up. Talk smack but cmon you know what you said is untrue.
GimmeShelter
Johnny Damon said Friday that he would be willing to move to right field if the Yankees acquired Torii Hunter. The Twins hold a $12 million option on Hunter for 2007, which may be difficult for the small-market team to fit into its budget. To his credit, Hunter declined to comment. madmike1
Torii Hunter dosn't fit on the yankees at all. There's no way they will go after him. Now a REAL rightfielder to spell sheff and get bernie's awful bat out of the lineup i'd be all for... As far as the yankee farm system being awful you just have no idea what you're talking about. They have 4 VERY good pitching prospects (one who is one of the best in the country in Phil Hughes) and a bunch of great young hitting prospects in A ball. MM - Like any fan we have a tendency to overate our own team's anything. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/features/26854.html http://www.minorleaguenews.com/ baseball/affiliated/farms/ALfarm.html Both of these articles give the Yankees a mid-ranking and as you said there is some talent there, but the Yankees rarely develop it. Is it a coincidence that the Yankees' best run over the last quarter century occured when George was banned from baseball? No. A majority of the team was grown from the farm system, but now George is having Cashman trying to recreate the bash brothers. The real probelm for the Yankees is not that their system is totally dry, but the Twins are not going to want a single A player(s) who are a good 3-4 years away. They will want a player they need now.

Wang and Cano were major prospects who are both going to be VERY good major league players and Small was a smart minor league signing. I'm not overrating the yankee system at all. They have a few pitchers in AAA and AA who are big time prospects and they also have a high A team loaded with good hitting prospects to go along with Eric Duncan in AAA who is a legit power prospect. The yankees have been refusing to trade their prospects lately and are building an extreamly solid farm system. The yankees have more then enough chips in AAA and AA to trade the question is do they want to make the trade. As i said before they have no need for Torii Hunter. If a big pitcher became available they would have the prospects to get him but the yankees will think long and hard before they trade their higher level pitching prospects. mbn007
Baseball America is very decidingly anti-Yankee. Just read all the chats with Mr. Callis, who is the moderator. Very much anti-Yankee. That said, the following are within 2 years of being solid to above average Major League players. I do not like to say anyone will be a Star, because you never know. Ty Clippard, Matt DeSalvo, Phil Hughes (maybe the closest to a Star), Steve White, as starters. JB Cox in the pen. Melky Cabrera and Eric Duncan should be in the Bronx in 2007 as regulars. Brett Gardner is not far behind. And the best maybe be J. Tabata, who is only 17, but can play, and play big time. There is Tim Battle, still only 20, who has all the talent in the world. He can do it all, offensively and defensively. He has speed plus, power plus, a RFs arm, etc. He needs plate discipline, as he strikes out too much. If he ever gets it together, he is the one who will be the Superstar from this system. Big if though. But to say the Yankees have a barren Minor League syatem is a comment a fool would make. Or an uninformed individual. Or a blinded anti-Yankee hater. PFSIKH is definitely uniformed. I would hope that BoSox also is, but ...............
