What is your excitement/optimism level for the Jets next season now?

Recommended Posts

I don’t care about the idiots in the FO.  I don’t care about the idiots in the CS.  I was looking forward to watching Rodgers quarterback this team last year and am looking forward to it this year.  I am also looking forward to watching Breece run behind this much improved line.

Injuries are the issue.  We need a break this year.  If Goodell graces the team with relative health, they will win the division.

If you look all the way to the left on the dial .... Further than you thought was possible ... You will see in microscopic print ...

"**** you show me"

That's where I am at.

Need to see us get 2-3 more weapons to get excited

Would Mike Williams, OBJ and a WR a 1.10 be 3 good enough weapons?  I could see it realistically happening.

[I heard on the radio OBJ is coming in for a visit and it sounds like he might be buddies with AR8]

I think we need 2 WRs for sure. I’m guessing 1 in FA and 1 in the draft. And we need a bruising RB. Staff didn’t seem to love Izzy last year and we can’t run Breece to the ground.

I find myself deeply concerned about the coaches on the offensive side of the ball. If the Jets are going to have any success this year, it’ll be because Rodgers was, indeed, worth it.

Rodgers is running the offense. Similar to Peyton Manning in Denver

As I’ve said repeatedly over the last several months. Until the Jets prove otherwise- they suck balls! I’m tired of hearing from fans, players and media TALKING about how good the Jets will be only to have them poop the bed time and time again.

It’s time for the Jets to show us don’t tell us.

I was extremely negative going into this offseason.  It felt like next season was going to be a death-march where we'd clean house (JD, Saleh, AR8).

There was someone on here who joked (or maybe just made a wise observation!) that people will get optimistic once we start acquiring players and are heading into next year.  I have to be honest that I am starting to get optimistic.  The rebuilt OL plus the idea that we might be adding a great WR in the draft (plus more FA signings and maybe more OL depth in the draft) makes me think we could potentially really help turn this offense around quickly.

Don't get me wrong though.  I realize we have gigantic injury risks that could derail the season.  And we all know that if something bad can happen for the Jets, it will.  But I like the "AR8 revenge tour" angle  (@Pac TM) and I like the idea that it's always darkest before the dawn (getting only 4 plays from AR8 last season crushed our hopes/expectations but maybe things will now turn around in a great way).

Anyone else feeling this way?

As the saying goes, fool me once…….i am hopeful that they will all be able to play as a team and not string losses together.  So often it seems teams will start out hot and then go into a slide.  The real key will be how well the oline comes together and how well Rodgers plays.  Right now it looks like they won’t need to rely heavily on passing.  The oline looks strong enough to get breece going.  So ground and pound is certainly in play.  And let’s not forget about the defense.  I think they will be better because they’ll be playing from ahead in some games and will know the offense can come back from a deficit.

so we’ll see.  I’m from Missouri.

I’m glad they are having a good offseason. Neither happy nor upset. Similar to the Mets and Knicks after years of losing, there’s a chance I stop following the Jets all together.

Just like the last few years, if they start the season like trash, I’ll stop watching. I’ll give them 4-6 games and decide from there if they are worth my time.

I don’t expect Rodgers to be MVP Rodgers but if he stays healthy and we protect him, Jets are going to be pretty damn good. I’d love to sign Mike Williams and draft a receiver in the first round but Moses is pretty cheap. It wouldn’t be crazy for them to draft the right tackle in the 1st and start him immediately and use Moses as a swing tackle. Either way, I’m hoping we finish free agency strong, and have a good draft. If we do, this team can easily win the division.
