Do you consider the draft "must see TV"?

Recommended Posts

Let me start by saying I've skipped the draft many times over the years.  Even more so as the NFL made it a big money event and stretched it out so long.  If I was out doing other things, I might follow via my phone, but I found it counter-productive to sweat the details or be glued to a device.  Thinking I might actually watch this year, but still on the fence.

Is it must-see TV for you?  Or will you be content to read the results after the dust settles?

Yes. But I miss the old days. 2 full days, Saturday and Sunday... back when it was a football event for die hard fans instead of a fashion show.

They take everything away from the die-hards and package it up with glitz.

Total must watch for me.  Have seen every one since 1989 though my first was actually the 1983 draft. Was tough to watch when I was in college. I think it is exceedingly compelling though like others I miss the all day Saturday and Sunday thing

For me? Yeah, or at least until the Jets are done picking through round 3. Sometimes I'll tune in and out on day 3 if I'm not busy. I love the small thrill of seeing each future team member, even Mr irrelevant.

For the average Jets fan? Yeah, it's about the only time of year it doesn't ALWAYS hurt to be a fan lol.

For the average nfl fan? Meh. I assume most hardcore fans do, but for many it's probably just as satisfying to track on the phone and/or read the next day.

For the average person? 😂 I imagine it'd be like what I feel when my ol lady insists on watching the Grammys or Oscars.

When Jets have a top five pick? Yes. Otherwise? No. I’ll wait about a half hour or so then turn on and see what Jets do. Once they pick, I’ll turn off.

No. when I get home sure I’ll turn it on but the draft isn’t something to miss anything else for. Especially Thursday night bowling league. It’s just a drama filled money grab like everything else on tv/entertainment.

you probably missed the zach wilson pick then. It was actually pretty cool to see, one of my fond memories of the draft, he came out and was like lets go NY we are going to kick some ass! I remember thinking man this kids seems awesome, he is going to be all in and wants to be in NY. It felt good to see someone young want to be hear, this was before the big influx of first rounders the next year.

I mean it didnt tunr out good but the "sideline" interview and puff piece on him that played saying he was a stud did feel good to watch. I think I am just going to watch the edited short clip of the pick afterwards this year of whoever our first pick is going to be,.

I do knwo last year their was not much made of our boy, did seem that great of a pick, even if he does turn a corner and become a stud this year.

All and All I say watch the clip after, waiting sucks if you dont give a crap abotu who else is being picked. Which I for one def dont care about this year.

This.  I have no interest in watching people call out names.

Yeah. The 1990-1995 drafts were really hard to watch.  I was usually stuck in one desert or other with no TV. 😆
