I Have Never Been This Uninterested in the Draft

Recommended Posts

The reason for this is no matter who the Jets take, I feel it will be the wrong pick because the Jets should be going after a QB. This is a disgustingly  rich QB draft and we are going to pass on them because we need to make sure Rodgers is happy with a new toy for the offense. This is actually the perfect time to take soneone like Penix or Nix and let them sit behind Rodgers for a or two and being them along slowly. I really feel Rodgers is going to have a so so season and think why do I need to keep doing this and retire after this season leaving us once again in QB desperation mode where we draft a QB in 2025 and throw him to the wolves jist lime our last two QBs.

Possible to take a developmental guy like Pratt or Travis or Rattler.

another way to look at it is be excited for the strong possibility of a mid round qb. Mike Pratt in the 3/4 would be killer

Oh please.  When was the last time the Jets selected a QB in round 3 or 4 that amounted to anything?

Jets will draft a QB, but not the 6 that will be gone before the Jets pick in the 3rd round. I like Pratt. I watched him beat a USC team and he was a big part of that upset in the Bowl Game.

Well.....sorry for you, I guess.

I think most of us will still find it interesting, even if it isn't going to go exactly the way we would want if we were GM.

The odds of a first round QB lottery ticket ended the day we traded for Rodgers, and won't be back till the day after he leaves the Jets.

No point lamenting it, that's as pointless as the "woulda, coulda, shoulda lost more games" folks endless whining.

So you are saying, if the Jets drafted the 4th or 5th best QB in this draft, we would be all set. Gotcha.

I couldn’t give two wet sh*ts about ever drafting a QB again.

50 years of watching them do that silliness and the best we could muster was 2 years out of O’Brien when I was in high school and one year out of Pennington over 20 years ago.

As soon as Rodgers retires, go get another veteran.

Oh, and we’re drafting either Odunze or Bowers, guaranteed. You should be very excited.

I understand how you feel. I love the draft itself, the dynamics, intriguing things that happen, all the chatter etc. To me, it’s the best sports night of the year. But I am very disinterested this year as far as the Jets go, and it all revolves around having Roger’s and his never ending circus on this team. I was 100% against having this prick on our team for all the things that have transpired since the trade. The cast of clowns he brought with him aside, this draft has now pigeonholed the Jets into having to pick a guy that may not be in the   long term interest of the team, or the best player, but a guy that fits the “ must win now” mentality. It just stinks and the possibility that he’s here for two more years is even worse.

Wise words. Unfortunately you’re going to be roundly ridiculed. The Rodgers delusion runs strong throughout the fan base.

Almost as delusional as those who believe the Jets won’t draft players out of fear of pissing Rodgers off.
Because Rodgers the Jet is the same as Rodgers the Packer 5, 6 years ago.

If there’s one thing I know about the Jets , for whatever reason they can’t develop rookie QBs

they should go after a Goff/Stafford  type QB after Rodgers is gone

Get an offensive minded HC, who hires a real offensive coordinator and a real

QB coach instead. The last time we hired a competent offensive coach Weeb Ewbank

brought us Super Bowl trophy and our only Hall of Fame QB Joe Namath

If we have a wealth of talent on the offense then we can sign a top 10-20 QB in FA when the time comes and well be right there in the hunt.  Drafting a QB is always high risk, and drafting one here would make very little difference short term or long term.  IMHO.

I'm still of the opinion that being able to draft a top flight QB prospect, and have them sit and learn behind Rodgers would be literally everything we've ever wanted for this team. Draft will be exciting either way, but we have the potential to fundamentally alter our franchise and secure our post Rodgers future.
