Mike North - the Jets “owe us one”

Recommended Posts

There you go season ticket holders.  You’ll be stuck in traffic at midnight for most of the season because this Wedge thinks you owe him one because Rodgers got hurt last year….

Great logic. The teams they’re playing weren’t good last year, so who cares about the injury risk of giving them back to back short weeks.

Here’s the honest quote: “We think it will make us more money — that made it something we were willing to do”.

Despicable.

I think 6/7 stand alone games are too many. I think 4 would’ve been fine to start. (1 MNF, 1 SNF, 1 TNF 1 international game) then if they are good then they could’ve flexed an extra game or two later on.

If he thinks the Jets owe him one then what is the number on how much they owe us?

The league should try to balance the rest that teams have going into games.  I can't complain too much here.  The Jets play on 9/9, 9/15 and 9/19 while the Pats play 9/8, 9/15, 9/19.

Why would the Jets owe a porn star anything?

I think you’re confusing him with Peter North. Maybe he has a poster next to the Michael Sam jersey.

I don’t really care so much about the rest advantage. We’ll have a rest advantage going into week 4, but that’s unavoidable with Thursday games. It’s having a short week in week 2 off a west coast trip, followed by another short week in week 3. These things are entirely avoidable if the NFL really cared at all about player safety. Short weeks should be spaced out way better.

Also, are the Jets the first team to have two Thursday night games without one of them being Thanksgiving or the season opener? I thought each team had to have on Thursday night game, but just the one. The Chargers don’t have any I believe.

Im confused. Unless you are off of a bye doesn't every team playing on TNF play 3 games in 11 days? It's actually 3 games in 10 days but it starts the season so not sure how big of a deal that extra lost day is

He's on Mad Dog right now going over the schedule.

He comes off as a pompous ass. Essentially every concern teams/fans might have that Russo brings up he just shrugs it off and says they shouldn't be annoyed/upset. Instead of saying yeah, that's a good point, we'll take it into consideration going forward

fans think the NFL is fair or has to be legit - like it's bound by laws and rules of fairness

It's sports entertainment and if they want to screw the Jets from the years of 1970-??? they will do exactly that as long as the ratings keep going up

the Jets are a team that exist so fans of other teams can have good weekends

here's what we should be asking ourselves what would it take for the League to consider the Jets a face instead of a heel?

it's probably not pushing all in on a guy who thought he saw a UFO on draft night in New Jersey
