JoeNamathsFurCoat
Kinlaw can’t be counted on. He’s always injured and when he’s not threatening to strangle beat writers, he hasn’t been very productive on the field. If Quinnen has to miss time, we are hosed. Calais can still get it done. Let’s go, 1y incentive laden to win a SB 🤣

Ghost
The one worry I do have about our defense is our ability to stop the run. 3

The pass D is excellent, but the run D was vulnerable at times. The Saleh-styled optimist will argue it’s because the Jets were never able to play with a lead so teams could run it down our throats based on game script. But it’s a legit concern, I think. The Jets did not address DT at all in the draft, opting instead for 2 identical big slow RBs when they already have the best RB in the league in Breece Hall.
Rob Moore
If Kinlaw would actually strangle of few of our beat writers instead of threatening, then he prob deserves a lifetime contract. 1

We did sign UDFA DT Leonard Taylor from Miami, whom not long before the draft was projected as upper mid round player, everyone thinks we got a steal there. They also seem pretty high on Jalyn Holmes, resigned Solomon Thomas, and maybe Tanzel Smart gets some real chances now. Under Saleh, the Jets have always done well finding plug and play DTs, whether it was Rankins, Jefferson, etc. I trust them on the DT spot and entire DL in general.

Fair but we have an actual NFL QB, albeit well worn, but if that fool stays healthy we may actually have a lead here and there and teams will have to pass. Maybe! 4

I don't understand drafting Davis rather than an IOL, DT or S, but I'm not worried about the run defense. The Jets are going to be able to run the ball, and thus have long, sustained drives and eat up a lot of the clock, They should be able to score lots of points, so opposing teams should be behind rather than leading, so they will be forced to abandon the run and throw the ball more. At this point, with AVT being questionable to start the season, IOL depth is a bigger need than DT. S could also be a bigger need. In addition, according to NFL.com Campbell is re-signing with the Ravens for two years for $12.5 million.

Jalyn Holmes had been released, and was no longer a Jet, but I see he was re-signed on March 26, and is back on the roster. They also signed Eric Watt, and they're pretty high on him, as they gave him the second-biggest UDFA contract with 2nd most amount of guaranteed money. Supposedly, he can play inside or out. JiFtheOracle
I bet he'd enjoy a rotational role. He's an incredible leader too. I could dig it. I know the Jags fan base is dying for him to go back and their angle is he'd rejoin Ryan Neilsen who Doug Pederson hired from the Falcons be his DC. (2) Kinlaw was brought in to replace the other FA DT tackle, who was an all around DT, not a designated run stuffer. We didn't resign the guy and I can't think of his name? It was Lotu, not Kinlaw who was brought in to take the Al Woods role. Note also that the D players that Saleh has had prior experience with have tended to perform well. Even if we could get CC ion short money, and even if he has something left. there are better places to spend in doing our patching.
