According to Adam Schefter the NY Jets have signed running back Tarik Cohen. The move has been confirmed by the team.

Tarik Cohen has had an interesting career as a running back and return specialist. He is 5′ 6″ and 191lb, but in his time with the Chicago Bears, he played in 51 games and gained 1,101 rushing yards on 264 carries (4.2 yards per carry average) with 5 rushing touchdowns. He has been a threat in the passing game, with 209 receptions for 1,575 yards, averaging 7.5 yards per catch and 9 touchdowns.

He has excelled in special teams, amassing 985 punt return yards and scoring one punt return touchdown. . He made the Pro Bowl during his second season (2018) as a return specialist. He hasn’t played since he tore his ACL in 2020, so at 28 years old, it will be interesting to see what he has left. He will be 29 as training camp begins. His versatility and explosive playmaking ability will bring significant competition to the Jets return positions, challenging Xavier Gipson for a key role.
