Beerfish
He might make the team but certainly will not be the starter for Montreal. The good news for him is that Montreals head coach is an exceptional developer of QBs. 1

UntouchableCrew
Honestly one of Douglas’ absolute worst picks. Made little sense then, guy couldn’t play a lick. 1

fltflo
While he was a terrible pick for the Jets in the end, keep in mind he was a fourth rounder. Folks here are constantly harping on taking a shot picking a quarterbacks in the late rounds. So give Douglas props for doing just what many fans here want him to do. as far as Captain Morgan is concerned, hard to call him a total failure. Considering how long he’s been playing professional football and continues to play. Seems to me, he plays just well enough that coaches see something that they feel they can give him a spot on their team. Speaking of taking quarterbacks later in the draft, It’s my belief that Joe Douglas just hit a-grand slam, by drafting Jordan Travis, who I predict will be our franchise starting QB in two years and take NY by storm. Never liked the pick but I'd venture to guess his buddy Gase had a big say in which QB he would like to come on board to run his offense. Joe D's first draft was easily his worst and I don't think Gase being in the room was a coincidence. Remember Gase pounded the table for Jachai Polite with Mac and then they drafted his clone in Jabari Zuniga the following year with Gase being the common denominator.

Yeah…no. They played DE at Florida. Thats where the similarities ended for those 2 as prospects.

Within an inch of each other in height, within five pounds of each other in weights, same school, both drafted to get to the QB and neither belonged in the NFL.

One an athletic slug, the other an athletic freak. Douglas values athleticism, Macc never did. And at no position on the field is athleticism (especially the bendiness metrics) more important than at EDGE. Again, as prospects at the time they were drafted, they weren't the same guy. The end result (bust) was the same but stop trying to make a comparison there otherwise. Same height, lmao. Zach Wilson and Lamar Jackson are about the same height, too. SAME GUY. Rangers9
I give Morgan credit for sticking with it and believing in himself. Even though so far his pro career has been rough. Btw he was placed on the ALs practice squad yesterday.
