The great DH debate

A terrible hitter in MLB would get roughly one hit every 9 or 10 times up.

A terrible foul shooter would make 5 free throws for every ten shots.

This is a bad analogy.

Maxman yes, but at the same time a Good MLB player gets roughly one hit every 3 or 4 times up...

A Good foul shooter misses one shot out of roughly 11 or so.

There is no analogy to baseball, because there is no other sport where those who fail at the task 2 times out of 3 are considered greats.

I think it's fair to say that about 1 out of 9 NBA players are poor free throw shooters.

When those terrible free throw shooters go to the line and miss do all the majority of the fans tend to say

1) Christ, I can't believe this guy can't hit a friggin free throw

or

2) Ahh, what do you expect, he's not a good free throw shooter, no big deal

Wrong again. 4 hits for every 10 times up would be a good hitter? When you factor in walks and the like you would have the greatest hitter ever on your hands.

Pitchers don't hit. That was AirForce's point.
