OtherwiseHappyinLife
1. I know it’s shorts in early June, but Xavier Gipson has been flashing. Good to see him and Rodgers building chemistry. Anyone else notice that Bernard-Converse has been mentioned several times with sticky coverage? 2. The frustrating part in drafting Izzy: he is exactly what his scouting report said he was. Explosive but subpar at everything else. It’s still early but this has all the signs of a bad pick. 3. On the flip side, Allen and Davis are looking like much better pass catchers than their scouting reports suggested. If so, much better scouting than Izzy. 4. Positive: Joe Douglas does seem to learn from his mistakes. Negative: But damn, the mistakes sometimes seem so obvious. 5. Jets would be unwise to extend a soon to be 30 year old Reddick who relies on his burst/speed. 6. Jets would be wise to extend Carter II or Reed. My gut is it will be Carter II. Franchise won't make sense for either. Cannot afford to lose both to the open market. 7. This team can use a fat run stuffer in the middle and a vet WR. Is Michael Thomas worth a flyer? Both could be inexpensive. Another backup guard seems to be a need but getting the sense the Jets are going to give Jake Hanson the first shot at winning the role. 8. My educated guess (often reclassified as uneducated in hindsight) is we’ll be pleasantly surprised with the trio of Adams, Davis, and Clark. 9. Rodgers still has his arm, the main thing that Manning and Brees lost in their final year or 2. 10. Man- I wish my dad was as lenient as Saleh. 11. Favorite training camp source: Robbie Sabo. 2
rangerous
Some good points. I think if they need a run stuffer they should see if Al wood is still available. It’s not like Izzy was a first or second rounder so there’s every reason to think he’s got his whole together. The new guys can and will push him.
SomebodytoAnybody47
I like the positive reports coming back about UDFA Watts and Stiggers seems to be making noise too. This staff can def develop talent on the defensive side. (Hopefully one day we can get that on the offensive side) I highly doubt they'll re-sign Reed. They'll let him walk and extend Carter II. You can't pay big money for CB 1 and 2. Extend Reddick for 2-3 years. Ideally be able to get out on year 3 if you have to. He's your best past rusher right now and you want him around for at least 2 seasons.

Respectfully disagree on Reddick. - His sack rate has declined in 3 straight years and he's closing in on 30. The guy wins with speed and quickness. When that's gone, it won't be pretty. - Jets invested a first round pick in McDonald. He should be featured in the future at Edge. At the very least, let's see how he develops this year against both the pass and run. - Opportunity cost. If we tie up Reddick at $15-20M per year, who do we lose because of it. Carter II? Breece? Garrett?

Garrett? Lol I think you're looking at his stats backwards my friend. He's had 12.5, 11, 16, 11. Seems rather steady to me? Not saying 5 years but keeping him just 1 season is silly. Guys his age have still be able to put up good numbers - more of a matter of staying healthy to be able to do it.
