But Russini said this AM that he cares more about whatever it is he is doing then being with his teamates and concentrating on football. She even said that she talks to many insiders within the building and this absence is not family or emergency rather simply a preference to being wherever he is than the Jets.

Am I to believe that she would stretch the truth?

Can we cut to the chase. He’s likely at a RFK event.

A bunch of people who have spent the last 24 hours bitching about how the media created this problem are going to quote this and say “I really think we should listen to the media on this one, guys”

agreed.

how many guys around the league are missing these days? we have Reddick who is holding out. there must be a few more holdouts not showing up. plus i bet either now or sometime in the next month before TC starts there will be a few guys who miss time because of family stuff.

if there is anybody on this team that i feel fine about missing 2 OTO days in June, its Rodgers.

Do you know the definition of the word “mandatory?”

reading these responses are funny.

if things dont work out and we dont make the playoffs is anybody here going to say ..."man if Rodgers didnt miss that week of OTAs in June we would be in the playoffs right now! "

i have never heard those words in my life. in fact this will be forgotten by preseason.

I don't think anyone is suggesting this will have any sort of material impact on the season.  But it's perfectly fair to criticize and question the priorities of the face of the franchise when he starts missing mandatory practices to pursue personal interests.

Some of the most important qualities of a leader are leading by example and prioritizing appropriately.  This is a distraction the team did not need in a so-called "all in" year.

Nick Faria is being dishonest in his assessment.  He, along with other members of the media, would never settle for a vague answer and would turn this into quite the sh*tstorm with an endless barrage of follow up questions.

Call it a non-story if you'd like.  But everything Saleh said would have come out eventually.  It's better to nip it in the bud instead of dancing around it and opening yourself up to media scrutiny.

And no, Rodgers should not get preferential treatment to miss a week of mandatory team activities to pursue his own personal interests.

Yeah, but when the head guy is out there stressing that it’s “inexcused” and puts it all on Rodgers, it opens up a media portal to hell that lets them haul off. If Saleh gives the vague answer, it makes the ESPN crew have to do the work, which involves talking to Rodgers (which isn’t happening) and it at least diffuses the story for a few days. Saleh narced and every media member re-wrote their A-blocks.

Has the Outrage of the Day been announced yet?  I'm going to be busy at work and was hoping to just go ahead and be outraged.

Was anyone really "outraged" about Rodgers ditching the Jets for his more "important to him" event?

I think most folks here that I read were more mocking it more than being "outraged" over it.  I know that was the route I went, lol.  I still think Mr. No Distractions Rodgers doing this "more important" thing is hilariously Same Old Jetsy, it's worth a wee shrug and laugh.

I don't think anyone actually thinks skipping a day in June will be a make or break thing about the 2024 season, do they?  If so, lol.

I think the guys here getting worked up on the daily about other fans supposed "outrage" or other fans "fake mad" stuff are in fact more fake mad and outraged than the people they're posting about......

All he had to say is it's a personal issue. Hell if the questions kept coming just say it's a Dr appointment

It's never a story if Saleh says it's an excused absence and he knew about it for weeks

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Rodgers created this situation by choosing to miss mandatory team activities.  Saleh has an obligation to disclose it to the media.

Dancing around the facts would have only made things worse.  Why would they want to voluntarily drag this out into a multi-day barrage of questions which is exactly what would have happened if he was vague?  He got the info out there.  It all would have come out anyway.  Dragging it out would have been the "hard way" to go about it.

Yes, lying to NY sports media would end well.

It’s actually a pretty common saying in Laos.

That would be the ancient proverb, "ຖ້າ ຫາກ ວ່າ Rodgers ບໍ່ ພາດ ອາ ທິດ OTAs ນັ້ນ ໃນ ເດືອນ ມິ ຖຸ ນາ ພວກ ເຮົາ ຈະ ຢູ່ ໃນ ການ ຫລິ້ນ ໃນ ເວ ລານີ້".

Wise words

You always know when the Jets are freaking out because they have to activate the league’s laziest beat corps to run and tweet the same message simultaneously

So so true lol

We are currently experiencing a multi-day barrage of horrible coverage that will get worse when Rodgers comes back and has to answer to why Saleh would voluntarily throw him under the bus.

remember when Brady took 2 weeks off from training camp?!

Tom Brady has more rings on his second hand than Aaron Rodgers has on his first. Look, Rodgers could be taking a trip to the moon for all I care but he’s the one who put the standard about people need to stop with the outside noise and BS. And then he doesn’t show up and he talks out his backside the whole offseason. Spare me.

Rodgers threw himself under the bus with the choice he made.
