DJF71
This never needed to be a story. Saleh should have said Rodgers had something to do and we knew about it. Nobody needed to know its "inexcused". This is still a non story. 3
Reynolds1029
I'm not worried about Rodgers. The Reddick situation is a real problem. He's actually holding out and won't be back until a new contract is signed. Aaron on the other hand will be in the building on Monday, business as usual. Also, Aaron can't be held to a different standard than the rest of the team. Hence it's unexcused since it's an event that he dosen't need to attend but very much so wants to. He'll be back Monday after it's all said and done. An excused absence is an absence not in your control. Like being tied to a toilet with bodily fluids come out of both ends at once.

The media will immediately follow up with the question if it was excused or not anyways. The media will spin it regardless since it's Aaron. Not paying attention to the real problem in the room which is Reddick.

Jack Straw
Who gives a sh*t whether Rodgers is there or not? 40-year-old QBs should have their reps limited anyway, particularly when he's fresh off an Achilles that snapped four plays into the 2023 season. Jets fans will find anything to b*tch and complain about. Yes, he's a member of the team. Yes, he should be there. And yes, he's also 40 years old and has been practicing in June for 25+ years at this point. A few reps missed in June mean nothing. Veterans get "vet" days all the time. And the idea that all players need to be treated equally is nonsense. Bill Parcells didn't do it with LT when he was blowing lines of cocaine in the locker room bathroom, and Jimmy Johnson didn't do it with Michael Irvin when he was literally stabbing teammates in the neck at barbershops. Rodgers is probably taking a mental health day that has become oh-so-popular in our snowflake culture and rightfully self-medicating with ganja and ayahuasca to forget the fact that he sold his soul to a trust fund baby in Woody Johnson and a country club manager in Robert Saleh. Let him have a day off and move on with your day.

It is frequently associated with the purchase of an expensive item such as a vehicle or real estate. Buyer's remorse is thought to stem from cognitive dissonance, specifically post-decision dissonance, that arises when a person must make a difficult decision, such as a heavily invested purchase between two similarly appealing alternatives. Factors that affect buyer's remorse may include: resources invested, the involvement of the purchaser, whether the purchase is compatible with the purchaser's goals, feelings encountered post-purchase that include regret. When you give your company $35M to help them out, you come back and talk about buyer’s remorse and being “all in”. Sounds goofy, doesn’t it
Dcat
1 hour ago, Jdeet said: Stop. It's almost a certainty that Joe Namath and Lawrence Taylor didnt make it to pre-season camp, because they were on some cruise ship, drinking and gambling (amongst other things). There was no social media and no one cared, as long as they showed up at game time. Social media, reporters, and pundits have so many outlets to spread crap about players. The latest was, "Breece Hall is a no-show to mini-camp." This starts another group of Jets fans and media pundits to blow that out of proportion, saying the Jets are falling apart. While in fact, Hall just has a minor injury and isn't participating. He's there. So, while we are all concerned with Haason Reddick and his contract hold-out, which will get rectified, if he wants to play, the other garbage about Aaron Rodgers (from all being said about him and reported, a perfect teammate and leader) not showing up to mini-camp, is just a ridiculous over-reaction. Where was everyone praising him for going to "Voluntary" OTAs last year and this year, but he alerts the team he isn't showing up to a 2 day mini-camp, which is likely going to be eliminated sooner, rather than later, and Aaron Rodgers is trending on X - Twitter and Jetnation. "Loser nutjob QB" - "SOJ". R-E-L-A-X Merge with other thread. No need for a new one about the same thing.

Imagine the great argument he tried to make when told of these plans? Rodgers: “That minicamp schedule conflicts with this event, which is really important to me.” Saleh: “It’s ok, you go to that event and let me handle the PR.” Rodgers: “Should we move mini camp back a week?” Saleh: “No no, I have a golf trip … I mean let’s just give some valuable reps to Tyrod ..” And here we are! 1 1

OtherwiseHappyinLife
As I think more about Saleh’s emphasis on accountability, I just had a horrible flashback. Year: 1986 Date: Halloween Place: Waldwick, NJ My Eastern European dad who was born in an internment camp near the end of WW2 found out I prioritized trick or treating over my newspaper route. When I got home, he took the Bergen Record, folded it up tightly as he bent me over his knee, and then gave me several lashings to make a point. Thoughts of Fun Dip, Nerds and (the subsequently discontinued) Bonkers dancing in my head could barely ease the pain. Oh sh*t, I’m sorry. I digressed. There was a point in there somewhere.
