Can't wait for comments and excuses about rodgers not being used to his receivers yet and being 'rusty' after 3 games to start the year.

Can't wait for you to bitch about it.

In fact, just start drafting up the threads now, you have nothing better to do.

your lucky you live in Florida. if you worked for the FDNY or any NYC agency you would have to do the same.

i dont know where Dom works but thats what it sounds like to me.

I got to the point where I could walk into the Chiefs office on a Friday afternoon and say "See ya in 2 weeks". 😆

Rodgers has opinions. Cool. I don’t really care and he has stuff which I likely agree with him on. But he’s getting paid an ungodly amount of money. He’s the quarterback. That’s his primary job. You don’t miss your job, especially when you are on a team, for stuff you knew way far in advance for a personal hobby. He knows better than this. This is going to cause issues 50x more than any podcast or any other gossip rumor ever could because it’s interfering with football. And who’s to say it doesn’t happen again? Is he out for all of minicamp?

You can't compare your minimum wage job to Aaron Rodgers'.

I'll be so happy when I can go to my company that is paying me like 50 million a year and we have a mandatory must be there meeting and I can just say, naw, got something else to do.

You’re full of shlt, you or those who got a laugh at that bit of bs wouldn’t give a dime back.
And how does this change the idea that he’s not all in giving back that $35M that he didn’t have to give back?

Can’t multiple things be possible at the same time?

1. Rodgers is still committed to the team

2. This is a bad look:  a combo of poor PR, mixed ‘all-in’ messaging to a fairly young team, and a missed opportunity for an offense with a lot of new parts to build chemistry

Quite frankly, as the HC of the team, Saleh should have strongly considered either saying ‘no’ or pushing mini camp back.

———————————

Just imagine what this board or the press would be like if Saleh pushed mini camp back to accommodate Rodgers.

Rodgers is an acceptable non excused absence. He is being  fined to ensure that there is no perceived notion that Rodgers is getting preferential treatment and send a message to the team that everyone is accountable

Rodgers has been there throughout voluntary OTAs - this is a non issue and Saleh and the Jets are handling it correctLy.

reading these responses are funny.

if things dont work out and we dont make the playoffs is anybody here going to say ..."man if Rodgers didnt miss that week of OTAs in June we would be in the playoffs right now! "

i have never heard those words in my life. in fact this will be forgotten by preseason.

Don't know if this was said yet in the 9 pages, but an "unexcused absence" has nothing to do with the Jets knowing he was not attending. It is a formal term issued by the league to determine if a player has to pay a fine or not. If his absence was not due to legitimate reasons like medical emergency, family emergency, etc., it would likely be "unexcused", especially if it was because of an event he wants to attend.

The guy was here for every freaking non-mandatory practice, yet somehow this has become a story. Social media and the internet really has made beat reporters unbearable

i was in the car and heard her on the radio - she said she did her due dilligence, is confident this is not a family issue and he simply cares to do whatever it is he is doing over football.

She also said she actually likes the Jets and wants to see them do well - she is in fact happy when they do well so her concerns is not a target against Aaron but more looking out for the fans of the team who she cares about.

I don't think I am the only one on this board who heard/reads this and thinks what a load of BS.

PErsonally I could care less what he is doing - not a great look I will grant that but show up in SEPT and start winning games and who cares.

All good thoughts but the main objective of Saleh should be to do what's best for the team and if that was to ensure they had time to gel (given all the new parts), then that decision should have been made the week he found out about this 'important' event.  This was not a last minute notification.

IMO, this is less about PR or how this board feels (obviously).  It's a lost opportunity to build on field chemistry.

I mean many of us our in leadership positions at companies or organizations.  If there was an important event that the Head of ______ needed to be out, you figure it out with the scheduling.

I completely agree with you if this was a last minute notification.

But on the topic of football, the League shouldn't have minicamps if these aren't important.  The role of QB impacts everything and the players who are hurt the most are the ones who don't have extra practice time with their starting QB who was hurt all last year.

Is it a season killer?  No

Do I have concerns Rodgers isn't all in?  No

Do many here have their own agenda?  Yes

Am I fake angry?  No
