Jets Sign DL Takk McKinley

The Jets have signed defensive lineman Takk McKinley.

McKinley (6-2, 260), 28, a former first-round pick (No. 26) by the Falcons in the 2017 NFL Draft out of UCLA, joined the Jets for mandatory minicamp as a tryout player and earned a spot on the team's roster for training camp.

Over four full seasons with Atlanta, he played in 49 games (25 starts) and recorded 17.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss and 45 QB hits. He was released by Atlanta in November 2020 and quickly claimed off waivers by the Raiders and placed on injured reserve.

He signed with the Browns during the 2021 offseason and appeared in 11 games (2 starts), registered 2.5 sacks and recorded 3 tackles for loss. In 2022, he appeared in 4 games for the Rams and spent a majority of last season on the Cowboys' practice squad.
