In your spirited efforts to disprove A-rod's MANY detractors from all walks of life, you need not thump your chest whenever A-rod hits a homerun. We all admit he is a relatively impressive player. We just dont think he is clutch. By that we mean Alexander the Great ONLY gets hits when the game is not on the line, either when NY is up by alot or down by alot. Ya see, being clutch means you might once in awhile contribute a big hit in a big game...or at least do SOMETHING in the playoffs one of these years. I understand youre frustrated by the Yankees still being in last place and still being under .500 and all. But you must be taken to task for this horrendous thread. Its stupid and pointless. Plus now you've meandered off into some nonsensical discussion about the Mets losing or some such crap. Obviously, youre deflecting the focus away from the fact that Randy Johnson totally sh*t the bed again. The Mets ONLY have the best record in baseball. One more compliment....c'mon.....LOL!!!! All kidding aside - proclaiming a team like the Yankees demise in April is foolish....jumping on a bad outing by the Sox, foolish as well. Let's talk in July. Both teams have question marks with their starting pitching. Both teams seem to have a closer. Sox defense MUCH improved - shoot the entire complextion of the team has changed. Still, can the Yankees lineup bat their way into another division championship? On paper it looks like they can. Additionally, doesn't pitching get better/more consistent as the weather warms? This guy had a porn stache as long as I've been posting on board like this (off and on since '99) And in case you want a quick history on why JonEJet is so frequently called JonEJinx: On the last board, JI, we had a Baseball Forum that was off the chains! JonE was notorious for being a contrarian @sshole. I know, I know...big surprise. But he would ALWAYS post in the middle of games and seemingly jinx his team immediately. He'd spout off about some 2nd inning heroics by some Yankee, only to watch in horror later in the game as the bullpen (then Gabe White, Felix Heredia, Mitch Williams, Jay Witasick, etc...) Anyway, as he spouted off wildly with "rah rah Yankees rule, Red Sox drool" type banter, it was ME who outed him as a jinx. I coined the phrase JonEJinx, Im proud to say. He said it wouldnt last. Famous last words. He's been JonEJinx ever since. And now MANY others have joined the fray. Even Yankee fans said: "Damn, Jon, it does kinda seem like every time you post, something bad happens to NYY." I sh*t you not, Jermaine, the mods at JI even placed a MORATORIUM on posting predictions during the game!!! All of it was done (read: so JonE wouldnt jinx anyone anymore) to calm JonE down because he was IRATE at me! He PMed me all the time, calling me every name in the book and begging me to FIGHT him somewhere, like outside the Jets games. He thought it was all over, though, when punk@ss Soothsayer banned me (actually, Bob the Knob had me banned) from JI. Until Maxman and Tomshane got themselves banned for making too many homo jokes and started JN.com. Maxman, a good guy all around, told me I could come here and educate the masses. JonE was horrified because I brought back the jinx gimmick! He thought he'd never hear it again! And the JonEJinx Movement is as strong as ever! It bothers him so much that he is trying to deflect the jinx label onto me too! If he werent such an idiot...he'd recognize the fact that I PURPOSELY dont post during games and make predictions as if not to look like an a-hole. This is too funny!!! You have to admit that!
