batman10023
read the thread about returning the wallet and reminded me of an incident over Christmas. So we are going to panama over the holidays. Flying to Panama City and then puddle jumper to coast (different airlines). The flight gets delayed by 12 hours. We miss our connecting flight. So go to a hotel in Panama City for the evening. In line the mom next to me is trying to get some medicine for her kid who is red and itching. I say my wife might have Benadryl. We don't have it but my wife (she's a neonatologist so trained peds doctor) - tells them to monitor it - might not be just allergic reaction but rather this other more worrisome illness. Turns out they live 6 blocks from our apartment in Manhattan. The next day we go to airport to fly to resort. Randomly the other family is there going on another flight. Daughter is still sick. My wife tells them it is most likely to be this other illness and to go to a doctor now - and don't fly to the tiny town they are going to. A week later we get home. My wife gets a message from a friend - saying a mom on a facebook group wants to know if anyone knows an indian doctor with 2 kids who was in panama because she helped her out alot. Turns out they thankfully left airport, went to the hospital and the daughter ends up in the hospital for 3 days. All fine now but scary. The mom thanks my wife via FB message and sends her a nice bottle of wine. That (and the nice post on FB Group) is more than enough thanks for my wife. anyway, a nice story how something bad (delayed flight, sleeping in airport) turns out to be a good thing in the end.
