Popular Post OtherwiseHappyinLife
I'm sure we'll all have plenty to complain about in due time BUT it's been mostly a positive first week of camp. 1. Most critical of all, Rodgers looks like he still has something in the tank. Reports are he is moving well, getting the ball out quickly & accurately, and still has a lively arm* (something Brees & Manning lost). Plus, as @KRL has noted, we are finally getting to watch a Jets QB play Chess. We should all get a refund for the game they've been playing. 2. Well, while he'll likely never be first to the party, Saleh appears to have gotten the message on holding players accountable. This franchise has learned to lose so it's nice to see players taking a seat after 'losing plays' such as drops & penalties. A positive step in learning how to win. 3. Haven't heard the names Max Mitchell and Carter Warren too often. That might just be a good thing. We can never have too much quality depth and the early Offense hasn't missed a beat without Moses. 4. Anyone else notice JBC, now back at CB, is consistently being credited for pass break-ups (dating back to mini-camp through today). 5. Poor DJ Reed. He might need to see a therapist after another few practices covering Garrett Wilson. 6. Maybe the Jets saw something in Leki Fotu that advanced statistics & others missed. So far, this is not the guy I expected. 7. Is Jamien Sherwood making the case for more playing time? Some here see a weakness at Safety, where the Jets ran a lot of 3 safety looks last year. Sherwood quietly had a good 2023 stopping the run, can he be counted on to help stop the pass? 8. Jets finally doing what good teams do: mentions of more pre-snap motion on Offense and using our elite CB Sauce to travel on Defense. 9. The Rodgers effect: Allen Lazard seems like a new man, or at least a more motivated one. Wouldn't be surprised if it was actually Rodger's idea to sit players who drop balls or commit dumb penalties .. we might be adding bad snaps and stepping on the QBs foot to the list. Lots of positive developments so far. Any I missed?

Integrity28
You’re “surprised” that Aaron Rodgers has looked like can still play? Or that the back up OL aren’t being talked about?

Larz
I Would expect the league to ask him to pee in a cup later today lol but wow. 35 lbs. that’s a determined athlete that could make a difference in the run game, which sets up the pass rush

Probably more relieved on that one since we don’t have a lengthy list of 40 plus year old QBs coming back from an Achilles. Happy he seems to be moving well and not very rusty post injury. Sherwood’s a converted safety, himself. He could be useful in dime packages, especially shorter yardage ones. It would be up to the coaches to create some sort of Honey Badger package for him.

This team needs to maximize its talent and enter the year with better contingency plans than 2023. Sherwood hasn’t exactly graded well in coverage to date but the arrow might be pointing up while the Mosley arrow might be pointing down. I use the term might on Mosley because some (PFF) had him graded very well in coverage last year while others (some advanced analytics) pointed out liabilities.
