Great coach and though I do not like the Bills at all and even though they are laughed at for their 0-4 super bowl run that is still a monumental achievement to actually get to 4 games in a row.  Levy was also a great coach in the CFL.

Vikings made four SB's as well, with same result.

Even though I hated the Bills during that era, I have always had tremendous respect and affection for Marv Levy. A great coach and, by all accounts, a top class person.

Many Happy Returns, coach.

Funny how some of these super bowl fail teams had admirable coaches.

Bud Grant was just pure old school awesome guy.

Yeah, he wouldn't even let the team have heaters on the sidelines. Thought it would affect their focus. Long way from today. But somehow the Vikings always brought their worst selves into the SB. Great defenses, but usually no offense at all. And all the teams they played had ferocious defenses so that wasn't enough. Chiefs, Dolphins, Steelers, and Raiders.

You can make an argument that getting to 4 straight Super Bowls is a greater achievement than winning a single Super Bowl. One team wins the Super Bowl every year, while we’re still waiting for another team to reach 4 straight Super Bowls

Very strange coincidence.  I was just thinking about Marv Leavy yesterday.  One of his NFL Films post game speeches popped in my head.  I immediately got a little sad because I assumed he probably passed at least ten years ago and I just didn't hear.  Glad to hear he's still with us and hopefully in good health.

I looked him up when I saw that he turned 99, he served in the last year of WWII as a Meteorologist in the Army Air Corps, was stationed in Florida as his Unit prepped to go to the Pacific. Luckily for them, the war ended before they saw action. He was always adamantly against using Military Analogies for Football, basically saying, "this is a game, not war". But he loved other historical references and such. I think he quoted the Henry Vth speech from Shakespeare occasionally, though. Was a big proponent of the WWII National Memorial in DC.

They don't make them like they used to... lol
