Warfish
We had a thread like this a day or so ago in re: the RB's, an interesting question with Hall fully ready and Allen looking like a real possible weapon to spell him/share carries with him. I'm curious what people think on the same topic when it comes to the WR group come week 1. Currently rostered WR's are listed down below. So two questions: 1. Which WR's will make the opening day roster? 2. Of those WR's, what % of targets will each get in Week 1 (again, projection/estimation, this isn't a prop bet or anything, lol)? Current WR's on the Roster (Per Jets Site, ol' @Sarge4Tide can confirm this list as needed): Jason Brownlee Irvin Charles Malachi Corley Hamze El-Zayat Xavier Gipson Tyler Harrell Allen Lazard Lance McCutcheon Brandon Smith Malik Taylor Garrett Wilson Isaiah Winstead Mike Williams (reportedly activated today, yay!)
Sarge4Tide
Let's say Rodgers throws 35 passes and 24 of them are to WRs. LOCK Garrett Wilson 8 Targets Mike Williams 6 Targets Allen Lazard 4 Targets Malachi Corley 4 Targets PROBABLE Xavier Gipson 2 Targets MAYBE Jason Brownlee 0 Targets Malik Taylor 0 Targets Irvin Charles 0 Targets RELEASED / PRACTICE SQUAD Hamze El-Zayat Tyler Harrell Lance McCutcheon Brandon Smith Isaiah Winstead
Warfish
I'm of similar thinking Sarge. I'll use your 35 pass/24 to WR numbers as well (seems reasonable). 1. Wilson 10 targets 2. Williams 5 targets (this will rise as the season goes on, barring injury of course) 3. Lazard 5 targets (this will fall I think as the season goes on) 4. Corley 3 targets (this will rise as the season goes on) 5. Gipson 2 targets (this will fall I think as the season goes on) I think these guys are all likely making the team, and will see snaps week 1. I honestly have no idea who the #6 WR will be. I guess I'd say Brownlee looking at that list, but could be Taylor or Charles, sure. Or maybe a guy not even on the roster today (JD clearly looking at WR's still). Whomever it is tho, I doubt they get snaps or targets week 1 unless someone goes down.

He can't possibly be as bad as he was last year, and even last year he wasn't tragically bad out of the gate. But after a month in the huddle with that airhead... The pessimism on him is both earned and justified, but on balance I think he'll be fine. Nothing great, and it'd be foolish to not expect him to butterfingers at least a few over the course of the season, and not worth $11MM, but I'm expecting them to lean more on him than Williams those first 1-3 games without a 100% failure rate lol.

Me too I just hope the glass slipper still fits once Aaron gently slides it on his foot.
Bobby816
GW: 11 Lazard: 7 MW: 6 Corley: 3 Gipson: 3 That's 30 attempts to just WRs. Rodgers averages around 34 attempts per game in his career. Obviously I think Conk and Hall will get targets as well. I think we attempt close to 40 passes in this one. I expect the number to be closer to 30 against teams not as strong as SF. I have the numbers slightly up for this game bc while we are a stout defensive team. SF has an elite offense. So we will have to score a good amount to win in this one. And I actually think we match up good against there secondary than there front 7.
