AFJF
We did our 53-man roster projection for the JN pod the other day and had a few UDFA's making the team between myself and @DTereman. With the two projected rosters we had Watts, Taylor, Jarius Monroe and Lincoln Sefcik making the roster. Who do you guys like thus far and who do you think sticks. FYI...we also had last year's UDFA's Brownlee and Gipson and of course Tony Adams making the roster again this year.
Popular Post mrcoops
It's going to be really tough for an UDFA to make this roster. But, based on usage in game 1, I'd say that Watts and Taylor have the best shot. Making this roster as an UDFA on the DL would be a major achievement.

FYI...we also had last year's UDFA's Brownlee and Gipson and of course Tony Adams making the roster again this year. As of right now, I have our roster as below with one spot still open. I can see the Jets adding a camp cut at IOL and possibly keeping 11 OL, I can see keeping another RB or TE. I can also see the Jets keeping another D player to balance things out. I haven't heard much about either Monroe or Sefcik so far in their Jets' careers. Of course if Reddick shows, then he would the 53rd player. Who was left off so that Monroe and Sefcik made it? EDIT: A poster caught that I had left off MC II. That was totally inadvertent. IMO he is definitely on the team, so that puts 25 on each unit and 3 STers. I can still see the Jets possibly adding a camp cut at IOL or S. If it's an IOL then one of Newman or Levao would be cut. If it's a S, then my guess is that Oliver would be cut. I haven't heard anything about Oliver except his moving from CB to S early in the offseason, so I think if the Jets can find a replacement, they will. Justin Simmons is out, however. I read this week that a contract was being finalized with him, but can't remember which team. Offense (25) QB – Rodgers, Taylor RB – Hall, Allen, Davis WR – Wilson, Williams, Corley, Gipson, Lazard, Brownlee, Charles TE – Conklin, Ruckert, Yeboah OL – Smith, Simpson, Tippman, AVT, Moses, Fashanu, Schweitzer, Warren, Levao, Newman Defense (25) DL – JJ, Q, Kinlaw, Clemons, McDonald, Foku, Solomon, McKinley, Taylor, Watts LB – Mosely, Q Williams, Sherwood, Barnes, Surratt CB – Sauce, Reed, JBC, Stiggers, Echols, MC II S – Adams, Clark, Davis, Oliver STs (3) LS - Hennessy K - Zuerlein P - Morstead Since I was editing, I decided to go ahead and take a shot at the PS. PS (16) This is the wildcard. Any of the following players could be claimed by another team. JD also usually signs a cut or two from other teams. I think the Jets should keep both QBs as one could get signed off the PS, but think they'll probably only keep 1. Without the players with question marks after their names and with only 1 QB, I have 14 of the 16 spots filled. The other 2 could either be from those with question marks, players cut from other teams, one from another team and one with the question mark,or if the Jets do sign a camp cut or two, the players who were cut to make room for the addition of the camp cuts. I don't remember a deeper, more talented roster in a long time, maybe ever. QB - Peasley and/or Martinez RB - Izzy, Valladay? Deon Jackson? WR - Malik Taylor, Tyler Harrell, Brandon Smith TE - Kuntz, Sefcik? Firkser? OL - Latham, Mitchell Edge - McGregor, Holmes LB - Eguavoen DT - Hector CB - Codrington S - Oliver, Key? Monroe? *Foreign Exemption - Obinna Eze (doesn't count in the 16 PS players)

For example, I would take either Taylor or Watts over McDonald (pedigree altar boy).

Loved what Levao showed last week. It looks like they have a bunch of guys worth hanging on to.

Looks like the oline is something that can be believed in. It’s been a long time coming. Could be they’re saving a spot for Reddick.

As I said on the show, I was trying to avoid playing favorites because I liked Surratt in college and raved about him last offseason as a guy who could surprise and make the roster. I think he's still the better player but Barnes being a draft pick could help him get the nod. Would be happy with either guy TBH.

Saleh supposedly loves Surratt, but according to the beat reporters covering camp, Sherwood has been the best LB in camp, and Barnes and Surratt haven't been far behind. I've seen Barnes name mentioned more often for flying around, being all over the field and making plays. Since he is a draft pick, and I think younger, if the Jets have to choose between the two, I think they'd go with Barnes. Several posters have posited that with the new KO rules, they think the Jets could keep 5 LBs.
