BCJet
Im curious if anyone has seen a breakdown of how the interior OL held up last night. Clearly we have a ton of depth at OT and may even wind up cutting someone like Max MitchellI. Carter Warren played strictly at LT last night with Olu on the right, but hopefully they move back to their respective sides for the remainder of the preseason to continue developing in the spots where we will need them. As for the IOL, Chris Glaser and Xavier Newman are both young players (2nd year) who "could " be developing in their time here. At the least, they are getting a ton of preseason reps after both getting some game action last year. Glaser had 44 starts in college and helped UVA finish third in the country total offense (518.8 yards per game) and second in passing (392.6 yds/g). He played both right and left guard for the Wahoos. Throughout his college and pro career, Newman has practiced at all three interior positions, although he has mostly played at guard. He started eight games at right guard in 2019 and one game at center in 2020, but the rest of his 37 starts in college were at left guard. With these guys you wonder how much the Jets Staff values experience with other members of the line and within our system over a player who might have a better pedigree but who hasnt been here. Newman in particular may have enough reps at center here to be a long term backup. Did anyone watch these guys in particular last night?
